Whispering

Whispering bothers me, for some reason. I know that's because a possibility occurs that it could be about me, negatively. I know sometimes whispering can be benign, but this probably isn't true most of the time, is it? (rhetorical).

Does anyone else have this problem? As in, ruminating over the myriad of possibilities they could be talking about (you)?

I've had the feeling in class as well, no one trusts the "quiet guy" after all. That sounds a little creepy, but it seems regular people have a problem with this. A professional told me once that a normal person would want to help with apparent anxiety. Maybe I just come across as aloof more than anything, not sure.

I'm wondering though, how often is whispering somewhat benign/neutral? I wish someone would do a study on that!

When my thinking has been particularly negative, any whispering, laughing or odd looks are always about me/directed at me.

Definately. I often think people are whispering about me. Sometimes it is true, sometimes it isn't.

I used to think that some people were talking secretely about me. But that was a little egocentric lol
Most of the times that's what it seems, people talking. But because of our low self-esteem, lack of confidence, etc. we think that they're saying something bad about us.
Sometimes it's true, I won't say people never talk about us, but believe me, usually they're not.

I really hate it! It's not about keeping something quiet, hidden, or secret. it's that horrible noise they make. Evil. Monsters? Strange noise! Eliminating the vocal chords. Someone tell me why! Is it just to annoy?
