at a most painful time for SA, like social gathering, attending wedding party, presenting homeworks at classroom... before the SA kicks in, what drug did u guys use to anticipate the anxiety?? i using fluoxetine, and its quite a help at normal situation but for intense situation it didn't help much...

I personally don't take any drugs whatsoever. I think that it prevents me from improving myself over time. But then again: I guess some peoples SA is far worse than mine, so it's probably better than hiding at home the entire life? *shrugs*

Fluoxetine is a drug that has to be taken on a daily basis, in order to help balance your brain chemistry. If you are only taking it before social events, then you are not getting the full benefit of the drug. You may be better off taking a short-acting anxiety med like Xanax before stressful events.

effective drugs i take for social events-phenibut(3-4 grams), Gbl, or if i have neither of those, i take benzos...the first 2 really make me social and more interested in people and they lessen anxiety..benzos kill anxiety but do not make people more interesting..

alcohol no longer works..
