What do you hate about society?

Society, I don't like blaming much on it. I mean of course there are factors and reasons but not everything can be attributed to it. I do however get extremely tired of race related issues. Like there's some stigma attached to anything not considered "American", whatever the hell that means. I have enough problems with negative thoughts about myself, I don't like being bashed because I'm Mexican. It just adds to the tension for me. I can't count the number of times people and even friends have said things about my race taking over jobs in America, coming over illegally, seeing me only as Mexican(even though I'm only a 1/4th) and not feeling like I deserve to be called an American. I do believe that I was born here, as were my parents and their parents before them. It all gets very old.

For sure, I agree. I can't stand this patriotism thing in America. As far as race goes, people never know what I am, so, I get it from all angles.

Exactly. Does it not seem to matter that I'm just as much an American as you are or the fact that I could be considered white as well if that's the way everyone wants to put it. But I'm also very proud of my heritage so I suppose I'll fight 'til the end for it.

Right on. ;)

Facebook, and social networks in general. Just logging in gives me cancer. I can't believe people are so interested in everything everyone says and does.
"I just bought a new umbrella, it's pink and soooo cute, read more on my blog *link*
"120 people like this"
Seriously, I don't get it, I just don't.

What is the world coming to?!

Materialism. There's so much of it today and it drives me nuts. I feel like people see no meaning in the little things anymore. Everything's about "Ooh I just got a new iPhone and took a thousand pictures of myself on it cuz I'm sooooo sexy" or "Ooh check me out in my new Porsche that I got just so I could get the ladies' attention." Seriously?? I'm starting to think people would marry their possessions if they could. I can't even tell you how much I want to punch the next person I see texting in the middle of a date. That even happened to me not too long ago. ...Ugh. I just wish people appreciated the smaller things in life more and weren't always so caught up in themselves.

I dislike the idea of the entire system, the quest for material prosperity over all else. I hate how our news media outright lies to us and our social media portrays a lifestyle based on materialism. I hate how our military bombs innocent people in the name of humanitarianism and freedom and how "patriotism" is used to degrade those who think differently. I hate how our prison system rapes and enslaves the poorest classes and how our education system dismisses individualism in favor of a herd mentality. I hate our anorexic standards of beauty for women and our obsession with fashion and clothing. I hate how celebrities are the most important people on the planet to us. I hate how damn near every child is on adderall or some antidepressant or antianxiety. I hate how we treat our farm animals and how our food system allows a double cheeseburger to cost less than an apple. I hate how our politicians have been bought and paid for by the people that want to sell us more ****.

I hate what this society has done to otherwise decent and caring people. I hate how we emphasize our differences and downplay our similarities. I hate how we view each other for what color we are (still) or how much money we make or how many (Facebook) friends we have. I hate how inward and self absorbed people have become, how easily offended and on-edge people are. How society constantly picks at our self-esteem and tells us that we arent good enough, making us insensitive to the problems of the world but oversensitive to our own insecurities and emotions. I hate how we have developed the constant urge to feel validated by other people. Most of all I hate how underneath all the Facebook posts, Ipod apps, and car commercials lies a message that YOU are more important than anything else in this world and that YOU need to look outside of yourself to find happiness.
