What are some exceptions for you?

Are there any specific situations where it seems you anxiety can be overcome and you feel confident in what you are doing?

For me I am great at public speaking. I have no issues at all with making a presentation in front of my peers or evaluators. But if you put me in a one on one situation I can shutdown.

Also If I play sports and I feel like a major contributor to the team I usually find it easier to be myself though it doesn't always happen.

While meditating, being in the company of compassionate people who don't put me down and have good topics to discuss, listening to Ajahn Brahm on youtube, sometimes while helping others too...

When I'm in a group that genuinely welcomes me and accepts me for who I am, I can come out of my shell and just be me. But I worry about looking too childish/immature.
Also, when I have good clothes to wear, I have more confidence and higher self-esteem.

My anxiety has turned driving into a fun competiton for me now

When I was first starting to drive I get so nervous about the people behind me. I'd think that they were thinking I was going to slow or not driving right. So I turned it up a notch and I'm zooming past everybody and making a game out of it :applause:

Won't be surprised if it get's me in trouble one of these days

Running definitely helps me to deal with anxiety. Now to figure out how to quit smoking cigarettes/drinking and start running again....:eek:h:

Also I can and do drive for hours at a time to clear my head.
