I just got this email message about our holiday pitch-in dinner at work next week. I'm wondering if I should call in sick...
"By popular request – we are going to play Stump The Board again. Here is how it works This allows you to give your assignment some thought.
·Upon arriving for the staff pitch-in, everyone will be given a sheet of paper.
·Write your name.
·Then write three things about yourself. These should be lesser known, fun facts. Make it fun. Here is the twist: Two of these things must be TRUE. The third is something you completely make up. A total lie. But make it believable
·We have three NEW board members coming. I will draw these forms at random. The staff member stands, I read the three things and the board panel has to guess which is the lie.
·BUT – the board members can ask question to determine if you know what you are talking about. You MUST answer truthfully any question about your two true statements. But as for the one you made up – any way you can further lead them astray, make them wonder, make them confused – GO FOR IT.
·All three Board members are brand new – so for you veterans, repeating anything of the past is A –OK
The more fun you make your statements, the sillier and more competitive it gets. For the last two years – the staff has smoked the Board!
So be thinking and we will start the fun after we eat on Wednesday."
Stand up and answer personal questions in front of everybody??? Seriously??? (Although, I am really awesome at this game when I have played it in other, less embarrassing situations.)
