This can't be good for the heart

Have a heart ATTACK!!!!!!

I don't know probably. My heart already sucks. It always like over 100 just when I'm sitting down, like the other day it was 130. Sometimes my heart hurts and like I'll just hit it to try to make it feel better. I wouldn't worry about it though, even if I probably should, it's just another thing to worry about I mean! Like what does that do, add more worry? I really don't think it's a problem unless it's actually unusually painful, or doesn't go back to normal afterwards.

Heart paplitations aren't necessarily a sign that your heart is working any harder than normal, but rather that you are more aware of your heart beating. Even if it were, that wouldn't necessarily be any worse for you than exercise.

Unless you have other reasons to believe that you have a condition other than anxiety, there is probably not anything wrong with your heart.

Your heart pumping harder probably isn't bad for it, since like Slothrop said, it beats hard during exercise too. I remember reading somewhere that your heart beating quickly during a panic attack can't give you a heart attack and might even be good for the heart.

A social anxiety book I read had a list of symptoms and details. It mentions heart paplitations and explains that theres basically nothing to worry about. A healthy heart can beat up to 200 times a minute and not have serious consequences. Id say that because your paying attention to your heart it seems faster than it is.
If your really concerned you should go to the doctor and find out if its anything serious

id say a racing heart increases risk of a heart attack and reduces life by 7-10,but not until you are about 50y old :)

Yeah get checked out. Also try some breathing exercises. Your heart may pump more rapidly because you are so sensitive.

New York, New York, is everything they say
And no place that I'd rather be
Where else can you do a half a million things
All at a quarter to three
When they play their music, ooh that modern music
They like it with a lot of style
But t's still that same old back beat rhythm
That really drives 'em wild

They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I've seen I believe 'em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating

LA, Hollywood, and the Sunset Strip
Is something everyone should see
Neon lights and the pretty pretty girls
All dressed so scantily
When they play their music
That hard rock music
They like it with a lot of flash
But it's still that same old back beat rhythm
That really kicks 'em in the

They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I've seen I believe 'em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating

DC, San Antone and the Liberty Town, Boston and Baton Rouge
Tulsa, Austin, Oklahoma City, Seattle, San Francisco, too
Everywhere there's music, real live music, bands with a million styles
But It's still that some old rock and roll music
that really drives 'em wild

They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I've seen I believe 'em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating

A good resource to understand what the symptoms are doing and how is index . i have had severe anxiety for 16 years and although i was sure i was going to drop dead from heart failure i'm still here with no heart problems. And I lead a fairly normal life regardless. Check out 'Sixteen Years In Hell' and listen or read my story.

Just curious, is it pretty serious when you have too much stress on the heart? Everytime I'm out, or even think that I have to be somewhere on a certain day, I get bursts of pulpitations, where I find myself I need to sit down and calm myself down as my anxiety does seem to take control.

This can't be good for the heart right with so much stress? I'm kinda getting a little worried about it as I have a heart condition too.

If you arent sure go see a doctor,a good way to let go of stress is aerobic exercise,I find jumping rope fun.

I subscribe to the theory that all the everyday stress and anxiety people with social phobia go through can't be good for the heart.

Years ago however, I remember reading a leaflet from the British Psychological Society about social phobia and one fact stuck in my mind. It stated that people with social phobia are no more likely to have heart attacks that non-phobic people.

At the time and even today, I'm not sure whether to be relieved or to laugh about this!

My family has a history of heart conditions, such as heart murmurs and orthostatic hypotension. Plus I have high blood pressure and a fast heart rate, because I don't really exercise.
If anxiety increases the risk of a heart attack, then I won't be in the firing range because I am an Avoidant, so I don't often put myself in situations that cause me to panic.
