Starting off a fresh thread for sharing your photography tips/tricks/questions/memes and of course your photos!

I'll start by sharing a few of my basic photography tips from uni and later a couple of my pieces from uni projects and some of my favourite shots in general

I think somewhere around this site I posted some of my photos I've taken with my phone I really liked. Anywho I'll post some of them here since there's a nice dedicated area now. :D

Edit: Forgot to mention I also touch up the photos I really like. I used to use Fotor App on Android, which is what I used for the images I attached, but I've since been using Instagram a lot to edit and post in one go.

(Second attached image seriously got butchered having to be resized. Ouch that hurts to look at. Ah well.)

Okay last post for a while. Here's a few other favorites off my IG. Also hopefully a better look at that botched deer landscape image above.

Ooh I love that railroad tunnel and the frog!

If you have a halfway decent camera on your phone, you can always start practicing there. I use auto on my phone's camera as well, as most phone cameras don't do well on manual mode. My current phone is a Moto G6 and the camera is pretty decent. (y) It's not an expensive phone by any means either.

Some of those shots were just with my phone, the average smartphone now can shoot almost as well as a basic camera, the better end phones can parallel the cheaper end cameras in many regards now

Oh yeah, I've seen some great shots taken with smart phones... unfortunately, you were both in high school when I got my current phone.

Wanted to share the photography class series I took on SkillShare. I took others too, but this one is an excellent video series covering a lot of the basics that makes sense. https://www.skillshare.com/classes/Photography-Essentials-Understanding-the-Basics/803714422

I am not sure if you need an account or not on the site, but signing up gives you 2 free months of premium so you have access to everything. Otherwise I feel it's a bit pricey to pay to have access to other courses and workshops and such. (~$99 per year) Not here to promote, but definitely wanted to share. :)

Have you got your eye on a particular camera, Phoenixx?

I was looking at Canon's online store and they had some good deals on factory refurbished models. I just checked again and the site is down for maintenance, but they had a couple of models for under $500.

Yes, Canon's refurbished outlet is really good with prices! I currently have my eyes set on a Canon Rebel T7. Hope to purchase before the end of this year, honestly. *fingers crossed*

I was looking at the T5 and T6. The Rebels seem like a good line to get started with.

Welp I had to convert a bunch of my old photography shots for uni anyway so they are finally in a forum compatible file type (though I had to shrink them down to upload them). In otherwords prepare for an influx of my previous photography assignments from uni (plus a couple of other shots here and there either for practice or homework/experiments
