Howdy all. I'm feeling bored and decided to create this here thread for people to talk about their pets n' post pictures n' what not.

I've 2 pets: 1 Bearded Dragon (Pogona Vitticeps) and an Ornate Uromastyx (U. ornata).

I'll post pictures when they wake up tomorrow afternoon.

I have an orange tabby cat and a border collie. In the family though, we have my two plus a calico, a black cat, and a mutt who's mixed with beagle, basset, border collie, and probably a few other breeds in there that I honestly cannot name. Basically he's mixed with just about everything.

My Bearded Dragon (the one on the hammock), Spectre, is about 5 years old and roughly 18 inches from snout to tail. He takes after me and is therefore very very lazy and won't move an inch for hours at a time.

My Ornate Uromastyx (3rd picture), Jester, is a few months old and I just bought him last week. Just like me, he doesn't wake up 'til almost 1 pm and eats alot. He is, however, very active and is constantly climbing up and jumping down off the foam background in his terrarium. $450 for this lil' guy+cage and accessories, but well worth it.

Both of 'em can live upwards of 15 years on average, heh.

I have a desert tortoise. He's in hibernation right now, but here's a pic of him during the summer. And yes, my nephew did push him down the slide. Secretly, I think my tortoise liked it.

what happens when he hibernates? does he basically turn into a rock for half the year? you keep him in a cage or does he roam the yard?

Hi Dottie,

he digs a hole (a burrow) and goes underground til about March or April. His breathing becomes slower and doesn't eat much and yes, basically turns into a rock, lol!
I don't keep him in a cage, he just roams around the yard.

that's pretty neat!

thanks! yeah, I'm pretty attached to the little guy! I rescued him in our back yard when he just hatched. Some ravens were trying to get the whole bunch of hatchlings, some got away, some were rescued by their mom and mine was all alone so I took him in. Been my baby ever since :)

wow, so did a neighbor have a pet that laid eggs in your yard? how long ago?

no, he's from the wild. His mom wandered in our yard about 10 years ago. We didn't have a fence then so I kept him inside until we got something suitable, then we moved and the house had a fence.

I have a boxer named Spanky. He has white fur, but his right ear is brown, he has floppy ears, and he has a slight eyebrow above his left eye. He snores very loudly, and I taught him how to jump through hula-hoops. I have a picture of him on my profile page, but here he is, the man (or dog), of the hour:
