Supposed to go to a wedding today...

The wedding is at 4 and I'm already starting to freak out. It's a wedding between two of our old friends, and no one thinks the wedding should even be happening. They're just doing it for their two kids....never a reason to get married. Anyway, my boyfriend is the best man in the wedding. It's a simple, laid back, wedding t grandmas house type of thing.

My anxiety is up because: #1 the bride and I don't get along. #2 my boyfriends brother and sister will be there, and they do nothing but start drama. Just don't feel like dealinw with crap especially when I know what it's going to be like. Now I need to decide....get over my SA for the wedding, or stay in the comforts of my home.

Maybe everyone will be civil and well behaved and there will be nothing to worry about. Perhaps better to go than to cause drama by not going?

Last time I went to a wedding the groom's "friends" caused nothing but trouble. Luckily I was too damned shy to do anything -- lucky for them. Now not so much.

Weddings are supposed to be joyous occasions for all. Friends and family.

Go because you're showing support. Keep that with you. Whatever else happens is secondary. You stand up and confront those who offend you after the occasion is done.

The wedding will be over quickly and then you and the boyfriend can discuss it afterwards hopefully in humour. I hope you still go. :)

Yeah, weddings suck. Two friends I've known since high school are getting married soon. I don't even know when and I'm already dreading it. I'm more of a friend of the bride, but the two of them have always been good friends. I'm not even sure the details of how they became a couple after so many years.:confused: I don't know how that happens. The wedding is likely going to be hell. Unless they happen to invite any other old friends (which is possible, but I'm not getting my hopes up), then I'm not really going to know anyone. Won't have a date. Can't exactly not go. Guess I'll hang around by myself like a loser all night. Sometimes you have to just suck it up be awkward and uncomfortable for awhile.:confused:

That sounds awful, Amanda. Hopefully it won't suck as much as you think.

I have to go to my first wedding in May myself. I am also partner-less and won't know many people there. Too bad you weren't there, Amanda...we could make fun of everyone. :)

Yeah, I usually just sit and watch the drunk people dancing like idiots. Or I waste time in the bathroom just to get away.

I think this wedding will be outside, so no bathroom hiding, unfortunately. I might have to find a new hiding spot if it gets too much for me. I'm glad you're amused by the drunken idiots somewhat.

Haha, yep, weddings suck. Brother's wedding... 0.o out of country too. I knew only my family and they were all involved with something.

Pass the wine please.

I never understood weddings. They never cut the cake fast enough and you're not aloud to hit on the groom if he's hot. And they get mad at you if you steal the wine. Maybe that's why nobody invites me anymore ::(: .

Lots-o-laughs ::p:

They never saw me take the wine. They all went for the open doors to smoke their cancer sticks.
