Something I wanna do

I've wanted to get my left ear pierced since I was about 15. And now 5 years later I still wanna do it. But I just don't know what my family and friends would say. I really wanna do it but if it looks stupid I'll be stuck with it. And wat if in 10 years I don't want it any more? I want it right now, nothing too drastic, just one of those diamond studs, anyone else got an opinion on this?

What do you mean you have to stick with it? Just stop using it and wait until the hole closes up.

That's something you'll have to ask the person who's taking care of your piercing. Either way, you won't need three months to figure out if you like it or not.

And be careful, since a lot of employers will frown upon it very much.

It is worse to regret something you havnt done then something you have done???

you live 1 time fuck your friends and family do what you want to do end of story they dont like it? shut up you like it thats what matters

you are worried you might not like it in 10 years? do your research see if it covers up and then write a pros con list and make a decision

It's a tiny, tiny hole that completely closes up after a while of not wearing anything. It'll be un-noticeable, unless your purposefully looking for it or using a microscope lol.
My ears have been pierced since I was 7. For years, I didn't wear any earrings at all. Now, you can barely tell my ears have been pierced & if I want to wear earrings again, my best bet would be to have them re-pierced.

If you were talking about a tattoo, that would be a completely different circumstance... then you couldn't get rid of it. But with a piercing, you can just stop wearing it & it'll close up after a while & become un-noticeable. (Sorry for repeating myself.)

I would definitely do it. You'll feel really good after its done because you went for it and because you've wanted it so long. As far as worrying what others will think, with SA you're going to be worrying anyway whether you're pierced or not  so what's the difference. Piercings are fun. They're unique and let you express yourself.
If you stop wearing earrings the holes will close up after awhile.
If they don't like you wearing them at work take them out while you work and put 'em on afterwards duh.
Don't wait. Go get it done....then tell us about it :D Good luck!

When i was a teenager I wanted a million different piercings but my upbringing was quite strict so beyond ear piercing it was not allowed. I've just recently had my nose pierced and i wear a small stud which i think really suits me. I'm 27 btw and i know that is a kinda strange age to get that done but i'm glad i did it. If i get sick of it i'll just let the hole close up - no biggie,

i never got my ear pieced but i got my nipple and dick pierced and both were in for a year or more, and don't have them any more and you can hardly tell they wre ever pierced, you would have to go so close my chest/public hairs would be tickling your face beofe you could see a mark

I got my ears pierced when i was 4.
They have stayed open pretty much my entire life. I hardly ever wear earings, but i know that if i need to, i can always stick one in.

However, not everyone is like that and it really depends on your body. My sisters' holes close up all the time (but a lot of that has to do with allergic reactions to metal which trigger healing prcesses that pretty much close up the hole).

But anyway, you are grown, and while i assume that your family means a lot to you, i think that a small hole in your ear will not be the deal breaker that alienates you from your family. Try not to worry so much about what others think and do something because you want it.

or at least that is what people keep telling me to do.

If nothing else, you can get a tiny, tiny stud that no one can even really see to wear around your family... and if you do decide that you don't want a ring in your ears in ten years, just take it out, no one could see a tiny hole in your ear.

just relax and have fun.

Well I did it! Wasn't so bad at all and I really like it. No one really said anything bad about it. My mother asked why I'd do something like that and my father just thought it was funny, but most people said they liked it and thought it was ok.

Thanks to everyone who replied! Gave me the courage to finally do something I really wanted! :D
