Relatives (or "IRL" People) Following You on Internet

How do you feel about relatives following you on the internet?
...Or other people you know in real life following you on the internet?
What do you say to them? How do you deal with it?

I don't mind adding them on myspace but when they start following me to other parts of the internet I become very uneasy. I am a very private person and it feels like my privacy is being invaded. And I don't like feeling obligated to add them just because they know me "in real life".

Someone please let me know how I should deal with this. A relative on myspace followed me to another part of the internet, making an account just to follow me (I am private/locked/friends-only on the site). At first I added them, then I blocked them because I WANT PRIVACY and it creeped me out that they stalked me. I have to see them face-to-face tomorrow and all this week. How do I explain why I blocked them? Advice please!

Explain it to them exactly how you explained it to us.

thanks! sometimes i overlook the most obvious things. i guess i complicate the situation when i become too afraid of hurting their feelings when i should just be honest and direct.

i need balls.

Yeah, I would just let them know you need your space. Tell them you got nothing against them or anything but you need your privacy.

Well, to be honest I could never block a relative like that. He/she would stop speaking to me. Thankfully, they don't bother me with nonsense such as facebook and stuff. I don't even have an account there...

thats weird having a relative stalk you, female or male relative?
best use different email address and username for things you do privatly, delete cookies and internet history if you share a PC after using the net
