I was in a store late last night (less people), and all of a sudden I got dizzy, I felt sick to my stomach, and my heart was pounding so hard that I thought I was surely having a heart attack which prompted a panic attack on top of a panic attack. If that’s possible…who knows, but it felt like that. I abandoned ship and left the store.
Also, I hate when I have a panic attack and people tell me to “just breathe”
No way! I did NOT think of that. Hold on while I finish hyperventilating …
Or here’s one, “want to hold the baby, maybe that’ll calm you down”
Really?
Yeeaahh, holding a crying infant will do wonders for my panic.
Or my brother asks, “What made you have a panic attack” or “what are you so afraid of”
Gee, that’s the fun of having SA; the perks are that sometimes these feelings come to surface without warning. It’s awesome; I suggest you try it sometime.
I’m sorry, I’m being sarcastic, but I wish I had the guts to actually say those things …
I know things could be a hundred times worse and I know they don’t understand unless you walk in the other person’s shoes. But being caught in the middle of an attack or sudden nerves that actually manifest into physical symptoms is no fun.
...just random rambling
