Overexplaining

I am wondering am I the only one here that seems to do that? I seem to go into so much detail that the conversation is moved on by the time I'm finished. I think it is the fear of missing some information and blocking any possible negative judgement by explaining EVERYTHING!

i do this, too! i always have a hard time guaging if the other person fully understands my point. i don't like to leave room for misinterpretation and aim for total clarity. this seems to leave the other person bored or they have already moved on to the next subject in their mind, just like you said.

Yea I overexplain.. Or I just always add another bit to whatever I was saying, so that people don't judge me wrong lol. I explained it like this..

If I say I like the colour green..
then I am afraid that people think "oh, she only likes the colour green, and no other colour"
So then I have to say that I also like.. pink, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple.. etc.. Just so they don't think that I only like the colour green.

hahaha.. O_O
