Hi, everyone. I am wondering if anybody else is ocd about getting squeaky clean in the shower-...quickly? As I've mentioned before I am a machinist, every night I come home soaked in gear oil, machine coolant, metal chips, metal dust/particles,et cetera. Needless to say when i get home I walk right into the shower. Problem is that i take way too long in the shower, like 15 minutes. On a side note, i wash up to my elbows before i leave work so I'm mostly clean but it's hot where I work, cutting torches, welding machines, a huge tempering furnace all running all night long, I get SWEATY. Big time. I try to force myself to be in and out of the shower in 4 minutes because my grandparents raised me and my grandfather learned to shower lightning fast in the army and so expects every other man to do so. Growing up he would joke that only women take more than a 4 minute shower. Now, 20 years later I find myself subconsciously scathing myself for not meeting his 1950s Army Standard. If he comes to visit and I'm just waking up and he hears me in the shower he actually times me on his watch and when I get to the living room I get the whole speech. So as embarrasing as it is, I am asking for tips on quickness. Maybe the washcloth/bar soap method I had drilled into my brain is too slow. I dunno. I know it all sounds stupid albeit it is a goal I've been unable to reach my whole life thus far because every square inch of me has to be scrubbed spotless. I've always been that way. Any ideas at all would be much appreciated.
