Just wanted to say hello and i have been suffering with sad/depression and anxiety for over 20 years(30/male)I haven't had any luck with ssri's as far as helping me cope with it.My main reason is that im very sensitive to ssri's and feels like an adrenaline rush when im on them for too long.(anyone else feel that from taking that?)

The question i wanted to ask is,has anyone had luck with Inderal (Propranolol) for the physical symptoms of panic attacks?I was hoping to try that out when i goto see the doctor soon.Im on celexa and buspar cause i thought maybe id give it another go,but had to stop because that feeling came back and its not fun!

Also, has anyone had luck with just wellbutrin when they couldnt handle an ssri?i have a feeling im not low in serotonin.I remember trying l-tyrosine and it helped me out a lot.So wellbutrin is about as close as i can find that comes to that.thanks for the help.

hi welcome to spw i had a problem with ssri's due to having bipolar so they put me on propranolol. i find it helps to take the edge of sweating, shaking, chest pain basically all the phsyical symptoms but like you im in my 30's and ive had sa a long time, so the mental side of things remains the same. they had to keep upping my dosage over the course of a month until they found the correct level for me.

Hi c12...i used to take clonazepam(which made me confused) for my severe anxiety....i have no idea about other medications.

Right now i don't take any medication thanks to my daily meditation. I still have a lot of anxiety...but it don't bother me too much. For a person who knows panic attacks are just a sensation(that come and go) and knows it's impermanent nature through self-observation....it is not a big problem.

Try googling 'vipassana' or read this:http://www.dhamma.org/en/art.shtml....it's on how observation of panic attacks or any negative emotion leads to it's cessation.

It is possible to overcome any kind of suffering...no matter how long or how big it is.Can tell this from personal experience.

Thanks once again.Meditation is pretty new to me,but am willing to try anything to calm down the nervous feeling.dean01,What dosage of propranolol did you end up staying with that seemed to take away most of the physical symptoms?I'm hoping for a small dose of xanax or something to help with it also if i can get it.For me at the moment the heart racing and adrenaline feelings are the worst.

I need to find out if i can take the propranolol safely everyday without worrying about having to up the dosage from my body getting used to it.If it works i have no problem taking it on a day to day basis.
