Love, why do they always say this?

When you are single, and you are looking on a dating site for example, people always say its the wrong thing, because you should wait for mr or miss right, because when you look after it, you wont find it.
i find that so stupid, of course you can find love this way, its just a little bit different, but this can turn out great too!!

What do you think about this?, is this true, what people say, or do you think it can happen too, while looking after it??, by the way i just met someone who found me on a site, she really likes me (im les btw), and she found me!!!,
but i still think, that people can also find love, when you are looking for it.. =)
There are so many fishes in the sea, sadly alot of bad jelly fishes o_O

I found my husband on a dating site. I wasn't looking for marriage, just someone...and I found it :) At first people thought it was weird that we hooked up on a dating site, and what made it worse is I was 17 and he was 26 at the time. But the longer we were together the less "weird" people acted about it.

I like the idea of not actively looking for it, I believe it should just happen naturally as you come into contact with people... but in practicality, for people like me who don't interact with a whole lot of people (or at least don't easily form "connections," even friendships), this doesn't really work out too well. I think maybe instead of "dating" sites, which could leave you prey to perves and predators, you should look for friendships, or connections with people that you share common interests with first... and if "love" blossoms, great, if not, at least you have some new friends.

No theres defo not a problem in being on a dating site its like a lil step to finding love, and its a very easy way to chat to people and even make more friends.

What i find is when people constantly complain 24/7 about being single and wanting a bf/gf that i think won't help in finding love.

A dating site is a good place to meet a significant other if you don't make friends easilly. If you're a lesbian, it can be very hard to meet a girlfriend by just waiting for it to happen.

Dude, the last 2 people I met were from a dating site and they were *******s. One was a retarded ******* and the other was my ANTI-CHRIST!!! Just be careful, people on the internet are very insecure of themselves. They rather go on the internet to hook up with a girl instead of going out to meet a girl?? Well that is of course if you have SA then it might be really hard to do that, but having SA is not the case with everybody.

Where would an insecure person with a limited social circle meet someone outside of the internet?

My hubby and I talk about this sometimes...there's really no place to meet someone period, SA or not. If you're not in school, don't go to bars/parties, and don't go to church...you don't really meet anyone. When we first started dating, DH didn't go to church, he's never drank alcohol, and didn't do higher education beyond high school. He went to work, came home, slept, repeat.

Lol you probably have to do all three. Just going to school alone doesn't work unless you hang out outside of classes (parties/bars) and then a lot of them go straight from the bar on Saturday into the church on Sunday. I know what I have to do now. XD

Well there's always before/after class, and group projects. But I get what you're saying.
