keeping vultures away from your funeral

is there a way to keep vultures away from your funeral, cause funerals in the uk seem to be for anyone who wishes to attend!

when i say "vultures" i mean people that have put you down in your life and just want to go for the enjoyment of it. (nasty people). also the local village gossips that probably go to every funeral there is.

maybe you can put some sort of statement on your will, that you dont want certain people to be there.
i dont have a will and im on benefits so i dont know if you can get it done at a lesser cost.

has anyone on benefits got a will and is there an option to keep people away?

I hate people like that. Like the town gossips you mean?

This kinda thing frustrates me lots! Thinking about my funeral and basically how no one really knows me or would know what I would want. I sometimes feel like I should make up the freaking thing myself and leave instructions! I'd hate if it were some big thing.

same here,i dont want a big deal made of it. i dont want a funeral.
when my wee brother died, he was living in a city 100s of miles away at the time, so that kept all the local gossips/vultures away

aye very good, but how would i claim for benefit money::p:

Incapacity benefit? lol

Anyway I believe (At least in the UK) you can have funerals to invite only. A friend of my mother's had died, the deceased's son (Who had just come out of prison) was refused entry because she had specifically said before she died that she did not want him there.

But most funerals are open to everyone, as most don't bother setting up lists of who can and can't come.

I guess the only real possibility is to just tell those nearest to you how you feel and tell them that you really don't want so and so at your funeral. Outside of that, you just can't control who comes at your funeral.

right ive been researching. you can buy these wills on ebay. £1.99 for 2. (they only come in packs of 2) i dont know why i would need 2 though! theres only one of me.

i couldnt find any scottish ones. the ones i bought are only legally valid in england and wales, so that means i have to move to wales.

in the meantime ive wrote it on the back of an envolope and left it in the hall.:)

"i want my funeral to be held on mars and i want my ashes to be scattered on jupitor cause i think i belong in outer fkn space.

i leave my house to the council.

and all my posessions to the poor

the end. cheers"

Ok, if this is not one of your joke threads, then why are you talking about will and funerals? You aren't 90 years old. You are worrying me a bit...
