Something strange is going on, i'm ill every two weeks without fail! I always get ill for one day and it'd not anything to do with alcohol because i don't even drink on a regular basis. The symptoms are similar to a very bad hangover though; Blurry vision, weakness and whole body trembling, headache, eyes sensitive to light, sweating. This is puzzling me because i don't understand why it happens at the same interval.

Does anyone else experience such symptoms? Do you think it's something to do with my meds?

it very well could be your meds. i had similar symptoms and in my case, the meds were the cause. I had all of the symptoms you are describing. what are you taking and how long have you taken it? did this problem start shortly after you began your meds?

I've been on Citalopram since June 2007. These symptoms have only recently started and every two weeks. If it was because of the meds then it wouldn't just occur every two weeks would it?

It's got to the point i feel depressed because of it.

here's the list of side effects

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, trouble sleeping, dry mouth, muscle/joint pain, fatigue, or yawning may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: changes in sexual ability/desire, increased sweating, persistent nausea/vomiting, uncontrolled movements (tremor), unusual or severe mental/mood changes, weight changes. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: black stools, change in frequency of menstrual periods, "coffee-ground" vomit, confusion, easy bruising/bleeding, fast heartbeats, seizures, vision problems. Males: In the unlikely event you have a painful, prolonged erection (lasting more than 4 hours), stop using this drug and seek immediate medical attention or permanent problems could occur. A serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

it's possible that you could lower your dose or take it less frequently to ease any side effects. does it actually give you any relief from your health issues?

But i can't see how it happens intermitently. Surely if i was getting bad reactions to the med i would feel the symptoms every day?

I've never heard of meds causing symptoms intermittently. Then again they could fill many warehouses with what I don't know lol
Have you looked at your diet/routine? Could be a possible allegic reaction. Say if you eat take out food once every two weeks.
Sounds like it would be a good idea seeing a doctor :)

Mood affects illness as well. If you're depressed for a long period of time, your body creates excess cortisol which basically suppress your body's repair functions (since cortisol is a "fight or flight" hormone). This makes it easier for illness to develop.

Yea, it could be serious. Like diabetes or thyroid dysfunction. Both can have adult onset. Would take everyone's advice and go see a doctor.

It can happen intermittently. It may take time to build up in your system, which may explain why it happens only every two weeks.

The side effect list named everything you are now experiencing. It may have built up a toxic level in your system which explains why it took a year or more before this started happening to you, but I can pretty much guarantee that if you continue taking these meds at the level you are at, the side effects will continue to become more frequent and more severe.

The best thing to do is listen to your body, even if it goes against what the doctor tells you.
