actually...
a person who is depressed, should be able to get the proper help he/she needs without people thinking they are less than human, or diseased or even dysfunctional. The problem with much of society is the way they treat those who are "inferior". Even though they think they are doing the right things, most of the time they really aren't doing any better than keeping them where they are, or making them worse, by only reinforcing their behavior and negativity by treating them like like insane, or amoral, or diseased. People are human. When they feel bad nobody should be ridiculed. They don't have to be treated as if they are terminally ill. And that's what most of the treatments modern medicine does (at least western medicine). They treat the suicidal and depressed ones, by taking them to a psych ward, and drugging them up with pills that really don't make them any better. There are very few medicines that are actually good and they fall under natural therapy/alternative, etc. Ever tell a psychologist or psychiatrist that you feel like killing yourself sometimes? They will then look at you as if you are insane, and need to be lock away in a psych ward where you will only get worse and are given really bad drugs.
Anyone else whose simply depressed, is seen as abnormal. Anyone who doesn't fit in is sick. Depressed. Abnormal.
