Yes, depression often makes people want to cry over the littlest things... or sometimes for no reason at all.

Are you on any medication at all?

Well... do whatever works for you!
Over time, medications tend to stop working though.

Are you distracting yourself with anything right now? Just the internet?
I find sometimes when I'm at a very low point; writing or painting works very well as a distraction from my sadness. Channeling it into something productive is a good idea if you can manage it.
Just a suggestion if you hadn't thought of it yet!

Do you have anyone you can be with to keep your mind off how sad you're feeling?
Perhaps you could try calling a crisis hotline to talk with someone?

Sorry to hear about it Pacman! Hope it gets better... ((hugs))

meds can have side effects or stop working, yeah..
Can you go for a walk or something? This can help!

Reading any good books? (miserable books can only make me more miserable..) Too much internet/computer can be bad for depression too.. Can you find other interesting things to do?

Any good concerts you could go to in near future?

Scooby, please edit - check the forum rules. - ((hugs)) to you too, though!!

Hey Scottish!

Doesn't sound very cheerful, possibly interesting tho..

Here's an article: Why using a computer can cause depression | Mail Online
There was another article, hopefully I'll find it too.. Basically there was a study/research that 5+ hrs computer a day causes depression.. not fun, I know!!

I've been way too much in front of computer too.. sometimes it's not so easy to motivate oneself to get away, it's really important to find other things to do tho...
someone we know cured her depression with walks every day..

Hope things get better!!

Feeling low and like i want to cry just now,my mum called me from upstairs to give her a hand with something and i was helping and trying my best and i got a bit snappy wth my mum which was not right and she said quite rightly"Dont shout at me" and i said i was not feeling"right" and she said"you never feel right when you're working, only when you're in the pub and walking up the town" which is totally untrue. God Bless my mum, she's 81 in march and im 34 but with my issues she has the generation gap attitude of "Pull yourself together","Get on with it" and "Give yourself a shake" which i find to be totally unhelpful.

my mum was hinting about wanting something done and ive always been rubbish at picking up hints and i eventually "clicked" and i said to my mum rather firmly" Why dont you just say to me what wants done and stop hinting" then she said to me "your lazy"

It's better to cry, than bottle up your feelings. Or end up smoking, and drinking lots etc. That happened to me, although i'm not drinking as much now, and slowly recovering.

You might be depressed, if you are just try do the things and that make you happy. What helped me was thinking, it could be much worse for me.

hi pacfan!!!
whatever may be the generation gap, feeling towards your loved ones will never change in time, so if she shouts at you stay calm and try to console her and make her feel happy towards you.. this attitude of making others happy is like kinda distraction from your depressed mood and will help you to get over from your moodiness.
