How worse is your social anxiety in groups ?

Lets say: you working with 6 people who talk not so much while working.

Do you still feel very panicky inside while you don't expect to say something because the group is quit or do you feel empty headed when there is a little conversation going on ?

at my temprary job now for 1 week 6 people don't almost say anything while working behind there pc... is it just me who feels empty headed or those people also ??? I experience almost no anxiety around them

It's good that you can work with them and feel no anxiety:) happy for you!!

Some people get so caught up with their job that they forget others are around...I would consider that a blessing actually.

Groups in real life make me want to fake being ill just to get away.

how do you know they aren't? It's entirely possible.
some people like to just do their job and go home. They aren't interested in conversation or small talk. I think if the silence is comfortable, I wouldn't analyze it too much.

Its a little bit strange for me in school I was the quitest kid and everyone was talking the first day while none them knew eachtohter and now at work everybody says hardly anything ''perfect job for me'' it makes me wonder if my socialphobia is really that bad and non-sa people also suffer from empty heads not knowing what to say to eachtother.
but before my socialphobia I could talk in strange groups naturally , maybe I have become shy ? how do I know if im not just shy ??? whats the difference between shyness and social phobia ?? I do experience anxiety when something is expected from me but don't shy people also do ?

Mine is many times worse in groups, for sure. In one-to-one conversations, despite a little difficulty, I'm able to calm myself down so that I don't exhibit the anxiety symptoms, and given a few minutes, I'd say I'm generally fine with it. In groups, I simply fail to function. We once had a college project where we had to work in groups of four - the other three in my group didn't work as hard as they could have done, so I wanted to explain towards the end what we had left to do. I couldn't say it, so guess what I did: I wrote it out over two sides of A4 paper and photocopied it. I doubt they even read it.

I am a hardcore gamer and I have problems going to midnight releases let alone having to wait and not leave the doors till midnight at gamestop...(I never trade games in there) I panic alot and it can clearly be seen so not well haha...Just standing there with everyone else makes me feel like there all talking about me or staring at me most the time.
