How do you deal with being sick?

This is more generalized anxiety or medical anxiety then social anxiety but how do you cope with your anxiety while your sick. I can feel a cold coming on and I haven't had one in a really really long time and I'm sitting here already anxious at the thought of being sick.

I think I tend to make a huge deal out of it, I over react.
When I got told I had nearly no vitamin D stores and had to have a bone scan I freaked out and went oh my gooooooooood, I've got old lady bones, I'll fall over and die.

Of course I was fine::p:
Just a drama queen.::eek::

I take tons of Vitamin C everyday to avoid getting sick. Even if I do get sick, the amount of Vitamin C I take fights off the cold very quickly. As for illness's that are not related to germs, I seem to have a lot of them.

I've had a bone scan before. Did you have the one where you inject you with radioactive IV fluid and then put you through some MRI table scanner for like 45 mins or more?

This thread is very relevant to my day when earlier I thought I was dieing, lol. I was having (sry guyz) the worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrst cramps of my life and just wanted to die. I also was like, "oh god, I can never give birth, ever :\" But with getting just general colds I definitely overreact a bit especially with the whole H1N1 deal. Which I'm surprised I didn't get because my immune system is faulty :(. Also, there was a time where I had this lump somewhere on my cranium and I thought I had a tumor. I literally convinced myself of that. But then it turns out it was just because I slept with a clip in my hair.

Sick? I'm always sick. It depends what you mean by sick. A cold or something like that is nothing to me. I always seem to have something going wrong, but I just go on like I normally would. I think I'm just so used to it now. I don't really consider myself sick sick unless I can hardly move, or can't stand to look at anything because it hurts too much. When that happens, those are the most horrible days ever, but all you can do it is wait for them to be over.

I don't think I really get any anxiety over being sick. I probably don't worry about it enough. I actually think the worst part is the waiting.

I don't deal with it well. Mainly because no matter how sick I am I still have to do everything by myself. I still have to go grocery shopping & cook, & clean & take care of the cats & feed the cats & do things for my mom. Even when my moms health was much better, she still didn't help me with anything when I was sick. I had surgery once & as soon as I got home, I had to start doing things, even though I could barely move & was in immense pain, all because I had no help. I take care of my mom all the time, but my mom won't help me with a thing, ever.

One good thing about it is that I have more of an excuse to not go to things like appointments & stuff.

No, it was just like a machine thing that scanned for about ten minutes, no IV luckily ::p:

Do you mean the stuff that makes you think you've peed yourself?

I always end up freaking out when I don't feel good. If it's just allergies or a cold or something, I'm usually alright. But when it comes to having a fever, upset stomach, nausea, and all that fun stuff, I flip. I don't know why. I fear illness and death. I guess when I feel sick, I'm afraid I'll never get better.
