Since eating better and exercising, my blood pressure is 110-118/76-80 . Average now seems to be 115/180. YAAAAY! :)

And that's with drinking coffee. Can't quit that habit. I also have a lot more weight to lose. But, I'm making very good progress.

That's not too bad but I know whenever I go to my dr. my BP is high. I get home and re-check it, lol.
It is pretty much on mark with what dr. reports. He's never said anything to me but I wonder sometimes if I should really look further into it.

Like you, I've been eating better and trying to get out of the house more often.
...ugh, just the thought of going to Wal-Mart makes me nervous, lol!!

Keep a check on your BP and keep eating healthier and even if you just walk around the block, believe it or not, it does help :) Good luck!

Congrats on getting your bp down.. and yeah it's definitely no laughing matter.
Mine is still way up, and I haven't taken any meds for about 4 months now. Last summer I had a mini stroke on the way to work. The doc wanted to keep me in the hospital, but I signed myself out (not necessarily the wisest choice, but I did it because of social anxiety) my pressure was 197/109. I can tell when it's really high by the symptoms I get..

I know I need to cut down on fat and sodium, and start back exercising (particularly jogging or something along those lines)
and I do plan to start soon.

Again, congrats, keep up the good work.

I had a 24 hour blood pressure monitor. My blood pressure was high when I was at the Doctor's surgery, but normal the rest of the time.

Being around people makes me unwell.

Thanks for the kind words! As far as exercising, a simple 30-45 minute walk a day will do. I make sure I eat at least two servings of fruit and two servings of vegetables a day (minimum) but I usually eat 3-4 servings of each. And, I keep away from snack and junk food. However, I will indulge (without guilt) now and then.

Well done, mate!

Mine was 149/79 at last check, which is hypertension range. I'm less worried about it than I probably should be.

Thanks Mikey! Yeah, you should try to address that with some lifestyle changes, you'll feel better too! Although, don't deprive yourself. A strict diet or exercise plan usually leads to failure-at least for me.

I know what to do - it's just doing it. :giggle:

I know that you can't keep up anything too strict forever. It's getting a good balance. I'll get there, and so will you. You're already there! Haha.
