HH+Summer

How do other HH'ers to it when summer is here?
Sometimes I just stay at home and miss out on the sun because
I get fed up of being sticky with sweaty.

It's a two way street. It's nice with the sun and heat but the sweat
can be a real pain.

I hate summer
as soon as I step out the door (well in my flat too) I get all sticky and sweaty is horrible.
Being in a hot bright office all day is a nightmare aswell.
Ive found this winter best yet in terms of coping with pro banthine and my sweating has been minimal so has been ok.
Really not looking forward to summer :(

I hate summer now. I really think my Hyperhidrosis has gradually got worse, so summer is horrible now. Have invested in Avert/Robinul so that might take the edge of my HH but without it, I pretty much avoid being outside apart from the beach/pools.

I really do live in fear when it's summer time, HH is such a debilitating condition. I really try to make the most of the cooler months and I love winter, but when summer time comes it's just not fun or easy for us HH suffers.

in the past i would just chill at home or go over to a friends kickback who blasts the ac for the whole day :). But if i have to be outside for longer then an hour, i would come up with an excuse and just chill at home. So far i've been working on treatments for my hh feet sweating which seems to be working great, so hopefully i can mingle about outside as long as i want :). I'll update on my status in the summer

The feet sweat is most annoying when you want to wear sandals. It's harder for iono to work on the feet. I remember the first time my feet were dry enough to wear sandals. What a unique feeling it was. Usually you slip and slide on just not worth the hassle. Sweat will also destroy leather sandals and shoes. I've had sandals that had lots of life left on the soles, yet the leather cracked dried out from all the sweat. Slipping and sliding on those cheap rubbery plastic tongs is no picnic either.

The key for me was finding my sweat spot on iono treatment. I must do maintenance treatment between 8-10 days, and every 8-12 weeks I must do a 3 day in a row treatment, especially during the warmer months. Like I said before; water quality makes a difference.

I sure hated summer before Avert--just looked and felt like a pathetic mess. The meds are a huge help, though I still head for air conditioning as much as possible.

It isn't hot yet, and I already started sweating and feeling too hot. I hate it. I'm curious to find out how much worse it's got this year. I know I will end up staying inside, out of the sun... but I hope this year I won't get depressed. Last year I was sweating so much sometimes that I just wanted to cry, and I felt depressed. Oh, I'm a generalized HH'er, by the way... facial sweating is cool, eh? Not.

Summer's gonna suck.

But I ordered Avert so hopefully this helps.

One summer I went to Cancun and then Miami. It was REALLY hot and humid...horrible combo for HH but I had been taking Robinul (AKA Avert)...like 2 to 3 2mg pills a day. I was totally dry for the most part.

However, feet were a different story. Though the meds did minimize the sweating on my feet, they did not get rid of it completely. I haven't found anything that works for feet...would be nice to wear sandals though, especially now that I've moved from BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT Cali to SUPER HOT and HUMID San Antonio!!

My HH is always worse in the winter. Sounds strange I know. Does anyone else experience this?

I sweat a ton no matter what season it is........I am also hot all the time too. My sister in-law told me to drink peppermint tea. It actually helps. After my body cools off from drinking something hot. If you drink it everyday it adds to the effectiveness and I don't feel that I get as hot=not as sweaty.

Summer is brutal, especially living in HOTlanta and now Miami. The humidity just seems to make it especially bad.

But the funny thing is that I'll still often sweat in winter and it is a different-feeling sweat when it is cold. I think my hands and feet swell up more then. And it often is really hard to be inconspicuous while sweating in cold weather.

Summer is definitely harder to deal with when it comes to footwear (probably moreso as I am a woman). I usually can't do sandals. That in turn sort of limits other aspects of my wardrobe. I feel the most comfortable in a clean, cotton sock. In the winter, I can wear these with boots even in dressy situations, with no problem!

Another funny (annoying) thing is that at work in the wintertime, I could never wear a sweater, because all of my coworkers would be sooo cold that they would really turn up the heater, which in turn would make me sweat off all my deodorant and be miserable. sigh. I guess by living in a warm climate, they were uncomfortable in cooler winter weather, whereas it provided me with brief moments of cool relief!

I'm now starting to wonder if Avert/Robinol could work for me. The only thing that helps my hands stop sweating (so far) is when I have a few drinks, or sometimes more than a few drinks (still it doesn't always stop me from sweating).
