have you ever fainted before?

If you're sweating a lot, an isotonic drink is a good idea too. To keep hydrated, need to replace lost electrolytes aswell as water.

Yes, I actually have fainted in front of a bunch of strangers. It happened inside of a very trendy computer/gadget store - while I was actually being "helped" by an employee. I had come fairly close to fainting inside of this store before...seemingly because of some combination of my anemia, dehydration, and my sensitivity to the strong electromagnetic radiation emanating from all of the devices. Then it actually happened.

I'm thankful that my mother was there with me that time; it has been extremely rare for my mother and I to shop together in recent years. So if there was ever a "right" time to faint, I chose it - since my mother was there to help me deal with the aftermath (she ended up accompanying me to the hospital). Lord knows that it would have been immensely difficult for me to handle all of the post-faint commotion on my own.

Funny - it happened inside of a store full of people, but when I "came to" - I may have noticed some people looking for a few seconds, but it seems that everyone quickly turned their attention back to the electronics on display. So I didn't feel all that gawked at. Of course, I was probably unconscious for the bulk of the time that people's attention was on me (if you're going to get stared at by everyone, being unconscious is the way to go - lol).

Of course it was a very embarrassing ordeal for me - but it could have been a lot worse (thanks Mom).

Also - I was worried that the employees would think that I was somehow staging my passing out as part of some shoplifting plot - but I didn't notice any signs that they were suspicious of what was going on. (For the record - my fainting was 110% real...as was my embarrassment.)

I fainted a lot/a few times in my teens, but never thought much of it. I tell in advance in some situations now, so people/doctors or such wouldn't be surprised, and get VIP treatment, bloodwork done while lying down etc.

I always thought it was due to low blood pressure, and maybe some slight anemia. Lately, I've had a fainting situation and a few 'near-misses' in the garden when I grabbed on to something, might be related to my neck, or just low blood pressure. It did scare me a bit.

Didn't know it could be due to dehydration as well! But if you drink a lot your blood pressure is higher, so it makes sense...

People usually just want to help, yeah, so no fretting! Stand by something that you can grab (not too near loudspeakers - deaf or hyperacusis aren't fun either! - maybe have earplugs with just in case?) and tell people you're with, so they'll look out for you!

A friend who does a lot of sports and got dehydrated while only drinking water before, now carries some salt with wherever she goes. Not too much a fan of the artificial isotonic drinks myself, you can experiment and see what works best though?.
