You would be sent to a mental hospital for hitting someone back?
Isn't that self-defense?

I got hit by guys all the time in school. They would gang up on me and beat me with their bike helmets and tree branches.
I fought back and never ended up in a mental hospital.
If someone hits you, I think it's pretty much fair game for you to protect yourself from their abuse-- or you should at least report them.

Its not right for someone to hit you-- doesn't matter if they are guy/girl/gay/straight; no one should hit you if you have not hit them first.

I agree with Weirdy. If a guy (or girl) is to hit you without provocation, then you should be able to defend yourself against it.

I have been in the opposite situation where a group that regularly beat me up got a girl to hit me in the groin.. There was no proper course of action, I had to take it like the group beatings.. Once she got a taste of bullying, she took a more direct role in it and constantly tried to kick me, knee me or punch me there. I can relate to you there.. but I was the only one to get in trouble and I got suspended every single week and had to repeat that grade for missing so much class.. I know you specified girls, but I wanted to share; I hope that's okay?

I have never hit a girl - and I never will.... well unless I had to defend myself of course. I have punched a couple of guys but that was only in extreme circumstances.

Yeah hitting women - never a good look. Its just weak - but I guess I am looking at it from a domestic violence perspective.

If a woman is attacking me with a knife, then yeah, I'm going to retaliate. As far as domestic violence goes, that's never acceptable. You're right that it is very weak.

She was by far not the worst bully I ever had, but I did try once to keep her from kneeing me by blocking and grabbing her leg.. She resorted to punching then.. I got bullied once on the bus by some kid, but I blacked out and the next thing I remember were my fists wildly flailing.. Not proud of that, but I don't remember doing it, just happened. Last year that girl hit my father's van in the parking lot while I was away in Texas and she was a real jerk to him too, but didn't get physical.. She hit his vehicle and yelled at my father.. She called the police and my father got in trouble somehow.. Almost was a moment of karma until the corrupt system screwed him yet again. I still believe that poetic justice will come in time..

Domestic violence and self-defense are very different. You have every right to, and should, defend yourself.

Hitting girls..hmm...yeah I did it,quite a few times,I punched them in the face with my fist or foot,throwed them to the ground(ma favorite part:D),but that was only at the jujitsu-club ::p:,guys were supposed to be careful when fighting with girls but accidents did happen from time to time hehe.Most clubs didn't allow guy vs gal fights but I ques our sensei wanted our girls to be tougher than the others and I think it worked ,the girls from our club were feared in jujitsu-competions :D.I remember one competition were our best girl beat the **** out of her opponent ,she dislocated the shoulder of that other girl:eek:.
That was a bit off topic but anyway I never hit a girl outside the tatami and I think it's pretty low for anyone to do it.
