I need things that go vroom to keep my sanity. Not to mention the nearest grocery store is about twenty miles. My bike gets around 55 mpg anyway.
@fitftw Do you do any autocross with your miata?
I almost bought a miata a few years ago but I bought my firebird instead because it was a deal I couldn't pass up. I plan to take it out to some local autocrosses. Just for fun, obviously it wouldn't be competitive. It fits my four-wheeled hoonery needs just fine.

I'm too nervous to take it to autox. I've done silly things like remove every ounce of weight from the car and I don't want to go and suck horribly and have people watching and criticizing etc it's a lot of pressure. I just like to drive spiritedly on my way to school and wherever else I go. I suppose one day I'll get over it and take it to the track. But not now. Besides, it costs a lot of money and time to beat on your car. Pretty much need to change all fluids and brakepads after a hard track day.

That's a nice old Firebird. I would love one of the late 90s Trans Am WS6

Driving is the only thing that relaxes me other than smoking and alcohol...

It certainly is one of the most important fulfilling things of many.

I suffered 5.5 years without a license. One of the years was due to an epileptic fit (which has never happened while driving), when you have to wait for a year to pass without fits. That's cruel.

It's possible it will happen again. I do try to not mention it, but when you need intensive care, you get that situation.

One of the things I hate most about America is the suburbs and dependence on the car for everyday life. For this reason I'm contemplating a move maybe to NY, Boston, or Washington when I finish college. At least somewhere that's way more accomodating to pedetrian travel.
