Do anything brave today?

Not sure if there’s already a thread like this around, but thought I’d start a new one, as I can’t find any recent ones. Thought it might be good to post any brave/challenging moments of the day, like, as an example: starting a conversation with a stranger? Or maybe wandering through a crowded place? Speaking out in the class? Should be a good chance to discuss what happened and reflect on what made you take action.

To start, I guess I’d say my brave moment of the day was participating in a seminar debate- something which I usually steer well clear of and keep my head down. I did a lot of uhm-ing and erm-ing, got tongue-tied a couple of times, but eventually managed to get the words out, and though I felt very embarrassed, it felt good to do things differently….

Anyway, what did you do today?

Not really. I did have a conversation with a stranger yesterday which is something I almost never do. Does that count?

the bravest thing I did today sounds really stupidly easy. I went into a tiny empty bike shop and asked the guy if he could fix the small problem with my bike. It ended up being that I was putting the wheel on wrong... I just hate interrupting people! Especially strangers, and if it's to do something for me exclusively

AsTimeBurns, that is wonderful! Of course that counts
TheLost, that is awesome! :)

AsTimeBurns: Yep, anything that makes you feel uncomfortable counts.

The Lost: Nice, at least you can say the ice is broken?

EscapeArtist: Eek, that's something I'd dread! But well done, hoping the bike's fixed now?

SonicMan: That's always a fun occasion, espcially with people in the queue glaring as they do. :/ Anyway, nice one - I've got that ahead of me tomorrow - wish me luck!

Good! An interruption from you would be pleasant so never stop putting yourself out there.

I went to a meeting a didn't get angry or feel like I was going to break into tears when I spoke.

I had a conversation with the guy sat next to me in class. He's quite a loud one, which sometimes intimidates me, but we had a chat about his newspaper, and I felt really upbeat for the rest of the lesson!

Flutterbeat: Nice one! I know how you feel: I have to sit next to a really loud guy in my class, who loves attention and speaking out, which is fine, but my tutor always looks to me for answers too, when I usually haven't got a clue. Think I might move...

Going clubbing later, urgh.... I'd say it was a brave decision, but I'll probably be using a lot dutch courage just to get in. Wish me luck. :/

Woohoo, congratz everyone! ^^ See, you're all awesome
As for me, the only brave thing I can say is that I took my Dynamics exam...and survived. Phew!
