Ever since Woolworths bought in those self-serve checkouts, I never use the normal ones anymore. I know this is going to be bad in the future - as more checkout jobs will disappear - but I like not having to socialise with someone when I'm there.

A couple of times a check out has been free and the operator offered to serve me. I always say no and continue to wait for the auto one. When I did use the express checkout some of the operators noticed my anxiety, I went as far as avoiding the supermarket.

Glasses are a bonus!

I still prefer her to a human check out operator. At least she is not patronizing or rude to me as many check out operators have been when they notice my anxiety.
My heart is filled with dread when she says "Please wait for assistance." because then I have to interact with a person. I go to the auto check to avoid that.
Anyway my dream girl is wilderness and nature.
