Ok so I am at the point where I got up the courage to start private dance lessons, I had my first lesson 2 days ago with a friend and I didnt realize we had to dance on the floor where everyone else was practicing ;p so I was a it stiff and nervous but towards the end I started to have fun does anyone else do some sort of hobbie ?

I go around and take photos of graffiti and stuff and I've reached the point where I don't feel self-conscious about it. Thats my main hobby at the moment :)

What style of dancing are you learning missjesss?

I just took up a hobby of doing martial arts. It reminds me a lot of dance except for all the physical pain. I feel the same way about practicing in front of other people and even when I think that I am alone I worry that maybe someone might see me practicing and I will feel embarressed but I just force myself to do it anyway. I am getting better at that. What kind of dancing do you do? Ever dance in your bedroom in tubesocks to flashdance? If you haven't, you should consider it. Thank you.

congrats to the both of you!

I have just started ballroom dancing ;/
I actually used to dance when I was in high school but that was more hiphop/expressive style dancing this is totally different I find it hard but I like it ;) ive been practicing all week even in my work toilets lol

yeah i can see myself having to force myself to go once a week also I just hate that I find it hard to just relax and have fun why do I gotta be stiff and self concious with low confidence hmmm :(

We had compulsary ballroom dancing lessons once a week at high school. Now, this was an all-boys school so it meant dancing hand-in-hand with other boys - eww - great for teenage self-esteem, particularly having to dance with bullies. Once a month a bus load of girls would come out from either of two all-girl schools and we would have to face each other across the dance floor and walk over to choose our dancing partners.
Major ::eek:: ::eek:: ::eek::.

The weirdest dance we had to learn was the 'Gay Gordons', Lol

The good news is that the self confidence and stiffness problem is totally normal and will go away with time as the situation becomes more familiar to you. Hope the dance lessons go well.

I am a hopeless dancer. I remember doing the Bus Stop dance in high school, and it was excruitiatingly embarrassing.

My hobbies: obsessed runner, nature and sports photographer, I am a botanist and can identify thousands of Australian plants, I also love to write poems and short stories.

What amazing!! You are brave for taking class!! I love the dancing...but i am very insecure to be around of people and arrhythmic, too obsessive to follow each step

And how you force youself, you will get to lost shyness!!

Well I figure my life can't get anymore boring so I am trying to find some fun in it!! ;/
I know I used to love dancing when I was a few years younger so why not try it again I try not to look at the other people around me but sometimes I still notice but I try to fight those thoughts pus always towards the end of the lesson gets better :)
