Bad News for Cyberporn: Internet Sex Linked to Depression, Anxiety | Discoblog | Discover Magazine

Don't know if there are any addicts like me, but this is kinda true. I stopped those kind of activities for 10 days ( after months of training ) and I did saw that I was slightly happier and more active ( for an injured guy anyways). I also was a lot less nervous around people and more sociable ( for me ).

I think what cause this is the difference between the high and low: let's say you this because you are depressed or any other reason then normal horniness ( don't think it's a word) you start getting happy then happier then happier then BAM back to your sad reality. Going from one extreme to the other can't be good to your mental health. I'm only using myself as an example for this.

Personally it's a bigger problem for me then SA but I know I have SA to thanks for it.

what do you guys think?

Really?It's free and I masturbate to it.Where's the depression and anxiety to be found in that?

I would have answer the same thing a year and a half ago or any previous year before, give it time and you'll find it :D
But seriously if you are not an addict then you most likely gonna be just fine.

Hey now, people get lonely ... like really lonely sometimes. I don't think it caused me to have depression it's just helping the living crap out of it. And again it's for the abuser not the once in a while people lol

it got everything it even got one day stands too. come to think of it there isn't much of a difference between watching porn and cybersex. Both of them are visual, you are not doing it for real and you have to do it by yourself. except one you type more then the name of the video you want to watch

Meh, porn is a quick fix when your bored, lonely, and have insomnia. In reality, someone to love and care about is what I'm actually seeking. Porn is only a warped fantasy of what I'm looking for. But letting down my guard to let someone in is nearly impossible because of SA. Anxiety wise, I'm sure it contributes, it's a correlation of anxiety and loneliness.

nah, I think porn is more by yourself, as in, you're not talking to anyone else, that limits the awkwardness for me...

people and masturbating...eh... ::eek::

Jeez lo pete this is embarrassing .

Same problem here, when I go on those epic journeys for countless of months I never find the need of having someone else in my life, it made miss opportunity after opportunity. I grew up a really lonely guy, still am, so those quick fixes took over my life.

Wait.. how can you do cybersex? Doesnt your SA affect that? The idea of "doing it" with another person online isnt really that appealing to me, it would be really awkward actually.

Online I don't seem to care as much as in real life, because i'm not talking and i'm near no one. It simply doesn't stress me.

holy crap I didn't know cybersex wasn't known like that. i wish I was like you guys. I think it's time for me to really quit porn ( i haven't done cybersex in ages)

It's natural for people to need sexual release. If you can't get the real thing, porn's better than nothing.
