I wonder how can they find out something like that, the people are incredible really.

I also wonder if it's worth to do such complicated calculations just because of one millionth of second.

What does a possible change in day length of 1.26 microseconds 5 years ago have to do with the end of the Mayan calander? Aside from (possibly) getting there a few microseconds faster than we would have otherwise.

Events like this have happened countless times in the Earth's history. This quake is not the least bit unique in that respect or any other--that's what Mr. Chao is saying in your quote.

yea its quite incredible how they can be so precise! computers are really powerful now they can work out really complected calculations
