Can people tell you have SA?

Is your SA obvious to others? or do you have to tell them that..
because people can recognize an SA, so it doesnt make sense to tell others you have SA, since they could just tell by your actions that you appear socially awkward and shy.

I think people either appear Shy, or Stuck Up being socially awakard.

I dont have to tell people i have SA, they know .. they tell me it. They just dont use the word SA.. they say im shy and i need to grow up. But i am grown up, im just socially awkward.

It's very rarely i can ever put on an act. No one trust me. Im just bad at it.

Hmm yes and no. On a good day I can put up a pretty good act. I can mask how I'm feeling and appear confident. I can flit between people at a party looking like I'm having a good time but having no real substantial conversation or connections with anyone. I think that's one reason why people think I'm stuck up when I avoid them in the street or aren't very socially responsive.
However on a bad day I can act really nervous and it is quite apparent I am shy.
It just depends really.

I dont think the people i have been around are fully aware of what SA is. As you said, they can see I am shy or acting wierd. That is quite bad, becouse they have no idea what we go thru. Its complety different being just shy to being shy with SA and i think its hard to tell the difference.

I am trying to put a mask and never told anybody. Not even family.. I think i am doing good job so far. Friends just think i am an ******* or a weirdo and that i enjoy sitting home alone playing games. Nobody ever asked me "hey, is something bothering you?" or something along that line. However i'v been called a liar, selfish, lazy etc. So i am pretty sure they cant tell, or have no idea what SA is.

I just act and have become so good that ppl believe im this super confident guy but dying in side lol....

Thats a great saying would make a good chorus to a rap song lol no its cool
Why fear death? Be scared of living. Our hearts are small and ever thinning. There is no hope ever of winning. So why fear death? Be scared of living.

hmmm now im really beginning to wonder just how common SA really is since SA'ers do not tell people they have it and because we often try to hide it.

If you can hide it well and seem like a normal individual who blends in, i would think i am the only SA in this world.. to be honest i think everyone is normal except me. People say they hide it well and stuff, well i think they are not that bad then, and should be on the cure of SA..

People always notice that I'm shy, but they never know how nervous I really am. I'm pretty good with a "poker face", hiding how I truly feel. Unless I straight up tell them, they basically don't have a clue.

Other people with SA could most likley tell, I have with a few people. Like most people have said, people generally just seem to think you are strange, shy, stuck-up etc. they don't know enough to make a connection like that. I think people should be more aware about social anxiety.

those kids are hypocrites. most people have an problem with public speaking than tell them to grow up. Every one in a way experiences SA its just some people have it worst then others and example is public speaking. People think its easy to get over it or they think we're just no trying to talk to people saying we are stuck up. I explain to my co worker that SA is like fear in public speaking but that's I how feel when just socializing with people. Some understand but others still don't get it.
