birthdays are the most depressing day of the year

yeah, my 21st birthday was awful. if it makes you feel better, my friend took me out to dinner(we drove out to timbuktu so he could eat at his favorite restraunt) and then when the bill came he asked to borrow money to pay for it, which he didnt pay back until months later. classy. dont tell anyone about it and let it pass like any other day. its not worth thinking about

First, Happy Birthday! ;)

And second, I completely understand the feeling. I've never celebrated my birthday with friends, only family. It's gotten to the point where I self-sabotage by declaring that I hate parties to avoid looking pathetic. Of course, being "principled" usually comes off as peculiar, but I'm not quite prepared to drop that particular delusion.

I get ya, i said all this about my life too to my mum before my birthday yesterday. I cheered up a little bit just for everyone else though. I'm sorry you're feeling this way. *big hugs* x

Happy Birthday!

I feel anxious in birthdays so they all tend to go wrong. I was heavily insulted in two of my birthdays so I really don't like them.

i have never celebrated or even tried to think about my birthday since i was 16. I don't really find it depressing though and i don't mind ppl bringing it up but really its just another regular day for me

Same with me. I haven't done anything special on my birthday in years either. I don't have a party and no one has bought me a present since I was 12. Besides a few family members calling and wishing me a happy birthday it is like any other day.

oh god, tell me about it. Im currently going through my yearly dread of the birthday, which is in a week. and Im living on res this year so my whole floor will get into it. I just hate the attention and the singing and opening presents. Also, the celebration of life and birth, pfffff, not much of a life to celebrate here.

Happy Belated Birthday!

and pretty much same as what everyone else said here....to me its just another day, i end up doing nothing. my parents not only not remember it, they dont even acknowledge it -.- the only person i probably might see like a week later to celebrate it is my best friend, who pretty much makes up for the fact that i dont have close enough friends to actually hang out with or something on my birthday. For my 19th like two weeks ago we went to Central Park, which was awesome. and she gave me two huge canvases (i paint) and pastel set. oh and she bought me a teeny cheesecake lol. that was probably the first time i actually did anything.

first happy b-day

I know exactly what u mean, i think the last birthday i celebrated was when i was 10.

My bday was last week, the 25 actually, one of my friend wanted to something for me but i declined,

Also one thing i hate about bday is when ppl forget, i have two of the ppl i trully care about not even calling me, sending me an email or even smoke signal so it's very hard to accept the fact that some ppl might act like they care but deep inside i don't think they do ::(:
