Ugh why is everybody so obsessed with beauty?!? It DOESN'T MATTER. No it really doesn't. The older I get the more I see how completely meaningless it is. It's just a bunch of insecurity and that's all, sorry to be harsh but it is. And then people say 'oh only people who are good looking say looks don't matter' and well I'm sick of it. Im totally fed up of it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is subjective. What does it matter if the whole world find you beautiful or not?! Somebody will find you attractive, attraction isnt just about looks.
I don't agree with that. Looks DO matter. It is obvious that they do - you only need to sneak a look at a few posts in this forum to see that they do and think about what you see around you to see it. If we are talking about attraction then yes that is absolutely subjective and personal - being attracted to someone is not the same as being physically attractive (or not).
But despite whether or not you are good looking - looks matter because it is how people interpret what kind of person they think you are and will react accordingly to you... every single person on the planet does this.... and it is not just looks, it is all kinds of different factors, all dependent on cultural social norms and what is deemed as important depending on where you and what values have been instilled into the society that you belong to.
You will not convince me that looks don't matter because they do. Every person whether or not they want to believe it will judge you on your appearance - they will make assumptions about you, and different opportunities will either be opened or closed to you despite the fact whether you are attractive or not. I don''t want to sound mean, but I could post a picture of an unattractive man or woman up, and even though it is harsh and cruel, people are not going to say - wow - they are really good looking - because, quite simply - they arent (or maybe they will - to not sound mean and shallow)
