Staring in cars

I was waiting at the intersection to turn right, I let this car go before me and I was keeping my gaze on the car so I could turn afterwards. The woman in the passenger seat then stared at me and smiled as the car went through the intersection, and then made the next possible turn. I was automatically confused, didn't know what to think except the reflexive negative reaction.

Does anyone else get semi-freaked out when this happens? I mean, when you get stared at while driving?

I just recently got my license (took me long enough, let me tell you) and I find myself having the same issues, especially when I'm in the car by myself.
I try to keep my eyes on the road, and the cars themselves as opposed to the people in them.

Soon I'll be in the market for an SUV and it will have as much window tint as is legal in my state. Problem solved.

I've never really had that problem. The only time I have an anxiety issue when I drive is when somebody is tail gating me.

I'm usually the one doing the peeking into other people's cars.
People tend to think there's a barrier around their car that makes it impossible to see in and do all sorts of strange things in their cars...

The odd time I'd catch someone staring at me in traffic, I'd look away awkwardly and pretend to pick my nose.

Is that helpful at all? Probably not.

Tint your windows! But not too much, I don't know the maximum you can without it being illegal but I know mine are somewhat. It doesn't stop people of course but at least it makes them go 'oh nothing interesting here let's stare at the next person'. I hate being starred at.

So, I wasn't going to admit that I do this, for fear of seeming rude... but I absolutely do, haha.
Man, I've seen people do some strange stuff.
At least, strange in that setting.
Eek.
