    Escitalopram

I've been on Escitalopram for only a week now, but have already felt significant improvement. Not only blushing less, but feeling generally happier about talking to people, picking up the phone etc. Side effects have been minimal, certainly less sever than with Paxil. Will keep you guys updated.

    Permanent redness with blushing?

How many of the blushers on this forum have a degree of permanent redness even when not having a blushing episode? I do, and I also tend to flush badly when I exercise or am exposed to heat. Sometimes alcohol can trigger it to. Am starting to think Rosacea or KPRF underlies the blushing. I have...

    Something worked today...

Woah. Am quite pleased today. Caught in a meeting unawares at work with no time to take valium or propranolol, and knew when it came to my time to talk (we went round the table outlining projects) the dreaded blush would start. Under the table I grasped my left knuckles in my right hand and...

    Morita Therapy

The Mental Health Okamoto Foundation Very interesting stuff. (And free!) 1. Accept the symptoms of blushing; 2. Tell your feelings they're welcome to visit you, but you will not let them change your behaviour; 3. List the purposes / objectives you have each day - I divide by job / family; 4...

I wondered if any blokes have had success camouflaging blushing with make-up? Obviously it would have to be subtle coverage! There's a similar thread on the ESFB forum that recommends Clinique's Almost Make-up, which seems to be made specifically for men. Anyone have any experience of this or...

    If you had it all...

Let's say: a) you recover from your social anxiety issues entirely...you wake and bam, they're gone; b) money is no object...a magic fairy keeps depositing millions in your bank account... What would you do with your life? Starting tomorrow? PS. If anyone says this is a stupid question I'll...

    Religion and SA

Slightly intense one... I'm happily agnostic, however I wondered if anyone had tackled SA successfully through religion? I mean religion in the broadest sense: prayer, belief, meditation, enlightment. Has anyone been helped, and how?

    OCD song...and pretty girl...

Apologies if this should be in the off-topic section, but thought you might appreciate one of very few songs I can think of that genuinely seems to be about OCD. The bonus for the guys is that this girl is one of the cutest things in the world :) Enjoy! YouTube - MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS |...

Zen and the art of social phobia...

This link might help someone: YouTube - Music and Life - Alan Watts Alan Watts is great. I apply this lesson by recognising that achievement is rather arbitrary - a human construct - and that day-to-day social humiliations and difficulties needn't be ruminated over too seriously. Life's there...
