Randomely laughing because you remembered something funny.

I do that all the time, almost 100 times a day.
Some people actually call me ''schizophrenic'' and when i try to explain what's so funny they don't understand.

Yes!! all the time. or it might be just another person's facial expression that sets me off or really anything. and then people try to drag it out of you why your laughing, you finally explain it, and then theres that long awkward moment, cause they still dont understand why your laughing.

you ought to tell them to mind their own business cause you're having a party for one inside your head.

I do sometimes, but fortunately I've never gotten caught (yet). If I did, I would just say "Nothing, I just remembered something funny <3" no details or anything, because it's non of their business anyway.

Ah yes I do this alot! Just out of nowhere my mind is on something funny that happened earlier, days ago & there is still something I tend to remember every once in awhile & have a good laugh about it. When my mom told me that we were going to take Estella's car to such & such place & I thought she said Stella (our cat) & I was very confused, lol.

I do this quite a bit. Also, when I'm at work and I'm struggling through/enduring involuntary interactions with my co-workers all day long I often laugh at how my unusual interpersonal behavior affects them. They take this laughter as genuine insanity or "crazy" behavior. They don't know how far detached I am from them and the person they are interacting with is not really there so to speak. I am far back from a distance watching. So yeah, I think it's funny how they (mis)interpret my behavior and take cues from my facial expressions and other non-verbal behavior to reach ridiculous conclusions.

But to them I'm laughing maniacally for no reason. And that, of course, is crazy. Everyone knows that.

i know a good example of this. this memory would randomly crack me up to tears for weeks after it happened.
i took this poetry class taught by a old fashioned crusty professor. he opened the class with a long poem and tried to lead a discussion on the strength of the verses and the passion of the speaker and all that stuff
the thing was, the poem was obviously about lesbian sex
and he was clueless
its memories like that! that sneak up and make you laugh in inappropriate situations

I've noticed that this sort of behavioral tick only occurs in the "oddballs" (Most people who post here, myself included) of society.

Why do you think this is? Are we just so awesome that we remember random funny moments and other people aren't?!

I do this often but usually disguise it pretty well. Or, I people watch a lot and sometimes I just can't help chuckling when I notice something... sounds mean.

I do this all the time!! Sometimes I have to be carefully b/c sometimes people think that I am laughing at them, but really I am laughing at something they did. I also think of random stuff that happened years ago and will laugh at it all over again. Ironically, this has caused me to be more self-conscious b/c I laugh at silly stuff and people look at me strangely when I laugh at certain things.

I do this, too... maybe it's because we live more in our thoughts than in the real world. Thinking about our memories of funny things that happened in the past may be more "comfortable" for us than trying to connect with the here and now and create new ones.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've kind of thought that I obsess about funny moments that happened in the past (even the distant past) because they don't actually happen that often for me... it seems like "normal" people experience those kinds of things everyday (or at least far more often), so maybe it's not really a big deal for them.

No, you're absolutely right!
i don't want to hurt people when i laugh, sometimes i laugh because something looks or sounds funny and i can't help it. I really get hysterical about little things. I don't know if it's because i haven't been laughing in a while and need a real good laugh. Then i can remember something funny and burst out and laugh even harder.
