over-extending yourself/people pleaser

I think that is what I am doing...no, I KNOW that is it.

I had a quiet weekend -finally- after a long week with the kids. I averaged 14 hours a day last week being a people pleaser. I did everything for the kids, and nothing for myself except jump in the shower for 7 minutes and back to work.

I found myself this weekend thinking, 'well, now what?' Yup. Time to myself, and that's it. Seriously? I had no idea what to do with my 'time alone' I watched a little TV, read a little, but that was about it. I finally bored myself to sleep.

So what do you do when you expend yourself so much to please others, do things for everyone else and then you find that you have a day or two to yourself and can't find anything stimulating to do, yet all week you say to yourself, "Friday can not come soon enough".... I am perplexed!

There is plenty of things for you to do. Why don't you hang out with friends, or go to some places like bar, cafe? Maybe you could spent your days on a fishing trip or go sight seeing...
You see, there's a lot of thing that you can do to please yourself. Just relax and do what you like.

Usually when I've been very busy during the week, I like to have nothing planned for the week-end. I usually spend my day wandering or reading outside if it's sunny, or painting, playing music or whatever other hobby that I feel like doing if it's raining. I avoid TV and try to avoid sitting in front of the computer during the day, because this is the best way to end up bored and lethargic.

So I guess you just have to try and discover what are the things that you like to do.

My hobbies include reading online fiction and programming, so during my free time, I still go on the computer. I don't have many hobbies, aside from exercises and cooking, that I do without the need of a computer.
