Oh, yeah~ sign language would be a wonderful skill to have, actually.
And when no one else can communicate with a deaf person - you will be able to!
I wish I could learn but unfortunately; without sound, I'm totally useless... especially if sign language requires as much motor skills as I think it would. haha
I'd say you're doing very well! At the very least, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem communicating verbally if you needed to.
