Mad World by Gary Jules

I definitely see how it could be about social anxiety. I have always related to this song, with the anxiety issues in particular. People might find different meanings from the lyrics.

Do you know who Isobel Campbell is? To me, you look like her. Random, but yeah.

Probably not social anxiety per se but yes it definitel relates to the lonley kids at school and stuff. I always hated the song because it fitted my description so much. Creep by Radiohead as well fitted when I was in my self harming days.

You're all making me want to listen to these songs again!
Gary's version of Mad World somehow properly conveys all the emotion that the words should've passed on in the original, IMO. Don't get me wrong, the original is great. It's just a lot more "up-beat."
I believe it's written about the monotony of daily life, rather than SA.

I love it.
Imagine playing "Creep" on a ukulele in front of a massive audience while wearing a flamboyant green dress and makeup that might befitting of a drag queen.
I love Amanda Palmer. She might not be for everyone.

I love both the songs Mad World, and Radiohead's Creep. Weather or not they were written with SA in mind, which i doubt it was specifically, I definitely relate to them.

I don't know whether it was actually meant to be about social anxiety, I don't think so though, since, according to wiki, that song is from 1982 & no one even knew of social anxiety then. But I've always loved that song & have always related to it. It's just not good for me to listen to it when I'm depressed, though.
