Hyperhydrosis & body temperature

Hi All,

Just wondering if any of ye feel too warm all the time?

I feel too warm all the time which is a serious aggravating factor for my HH.
I think if I could reduce my temperature it wouldn't be as bad.

I recently checked it - it's 37.5 degrees celsius. This is on the high side of normal.

Has anyone tried a calorie restriction diet to reduce body temperature?

Thanks

Phantom

I'm not sure there is any way to bring down our body temp with HH. I find the only solution is to remain perfectly still... not practical.

Normal human temp is 98.6. My normal regular body temp is around 97.2. If I have a temp of 98.6, I'm miserable from the fever feelings. I likely sweat more than most of you here. I've used numerous treatments, some working, some not. I want a damn cure.

I read recently that a calorie restriction diet can reduce body temperature. If you google 'science daily reduced body temperature' you should find it.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it

I haven't monitored my body temp, but in conjunction with ionto I have lost a lot of weight and much of that from being on a caloric deficit between 800-1200 a day (goal of losing 2 lbs a week).

My sweating overall has definitely been reduced with the weight loss.

I don't do ionto on my feet, yet they sweat at perhaps 10% of the rate they used to.

Sorry I can't provide any hard numbers on body temp.

This is probably just me but I think there is a difference between how much I sweat a year ago compared to my skinnier self now (20 lbs lighter). I think I sweat a lot more when I was heavier.

definitely think there's a connection with body heat, good point. noticed before but never made the connection

when the HH is triggered, I find that my body temperature rises sharply. I start feeling very uncomfortable and hot and feel the need to lay down under a fan or air conditioner. The instant HH stops, I suddenly feel much cooler.

It sounds like it may be worth trying as we all appear to have the same issue. I have always felt that body heat was a major factor in my hyperhydrosis. If I could reduce it to normal levels ie 37 Degrees Celcius maybe it would improve. I have often taken cold showers & baths and felt much better afterwards - for 20 minutes anyway until I heated up again.

If I wear jeans and a jumper I sweat heavier than with something cooler like t shirts etc.
I sweat heavily in bed due to the heat. My temperature would be 37.9 degrees celcius in bed with pyjamas on.

The treatments I have tried to date (Driclor underarm, Axillary sweat gland removal etc) have all lead to compensatory sweating. I used to sweat fairly heavily under my arms but the sweat gland removal has almost completely stopped that but left me with fairly low level generalised sweating in most areas. I think this is probably because my body heat remained too high and so I sweat from somewhere else.

I am currently taking LyrinelXL (Oxybutynin) with some results. It's hard to tell with generalised sweating but it is definitely not 100% effective for me. I have also tried Avert with similar results.

I'm going to start researching calorie restriction/other means to reduce body temperature.

See, for me, it doesnt matter what temperature it is around me. I will sweat if its 100. I will sweat if its 15 degrees. Sucks.

I took part in a genetics study of hyperhidrosis a few years ago. They mailed me a swab and I swabbed my mouth. I had my entire family do it as well, since my mother and her siblings all have hyperhidrosis as well. I am pretty convinced it is genetic.

I encourage all of you to take part in it as well. Here are the details:

gg,

I understand that external temperatures dont cause hh for you but do you feel warm/intolerant to heat?

Not really. I actually prefer summer, even though I sweat more in the summer. The thing is, everyone is sweating their ass off here in the summer, so it only looks odd when I'm sweating my ass off in the winter when it was below freezing.

My attempts so far to reduce my body temperature have failed miserably!

Calorie restriction reduces body temperature by only 0.2 degrees Celcius.
Melatonin has not worked at all

Love the Spartacus reference Phantom...

Sorry to hear the body temp thing didn't work.

Did the calorie restriction help your body weight or perhaps you were already naturally slim? I've noticed a general reduction in overall sweating since I lost weight. Still have social anxiety sweats - forehead face when eating spices or public speaking - but generally just sweat a lot less from all areas of the body since losing a bunch of weight.

Will really miss Spartacus. Loved Batiatus in particular. 'That.. ****.. f*ck Glaber beckons me to the city only to spurn me like a thin wasted whore'.
'Words fall from your mouth as **** from ass' lol

I didn't actually try the calorie restriction diet. I based the 0.2 drop in temp on internet research. It said the subjects were on a CR diet for 6 years and body temp was 0.2 lower. I would need 1 degree.

Calorie restriction would be difficult. I am too fond of my food. I will lose weight in the next few months though as I am somewhat overweight.

The one thing which puts me off is that fact that when I was younger I was skinny but sweating heavily.

How did calorie restriction work for you? Was it difficult? I read that u shud do it very gradually ie over a few years

I didn't do it that gradually. I lost about 40 lbs in 4 months - which is about as much as I felt I could do in safe and healthy manner. But I was exercising as well, walk/jog 4-6 miles every morning, also some weight training. That combined with watching my calories and the weight melted off. Resting heart rate dropped a bunch and just generally feel better than ever. Weigh about what I did in high school - 25+ years ago.

I don't remember ever being skinny... So I can't compare, I only know that compared to when I was quite fat (clinically obese), my joints, body and everything feels so much better and I just notice a huge overall decrease in sweating. Unfortunately, I have no clue the impact it had on my body temp. I just know the sweating is less...

And ya - even though I know the series had to end that way (assuming they wanted to follow historical events and not kill off major historical figures like Julius Caesar lol) - was hoping they could milk another season or two out of it anyways... I could watch that gladiator crap forever. Pure unadulterated gore and violence with little need or pretense for story... Batiatus was one of my favorites too.

I often think about this and I am fairly certain that the only thing temperature effects is how quickly i neutralise/dry off once the I have stopped sweating (usually once I have sat down and had a cold drink). Obviously if it is do damn cold you couldn't sweat at a leisurely pace then it effects it but we are talking extreme temperatures like freezing and below.

There is a definite correlation with my body temperature and Hyperhidrosis.

I find something odd about my sweating/body temperature. When i am sitting down, perfectly still, it seems my body temperature rises; but when i get up to walk around or drink a cold bottle of water it goes down. Like right now for instance i am sitting down at my laptop. And at first when i sat down i felt super hot and my hands were moist but after i had a cold glass of water, a few minutes later, i felt cooler and my hands were noticeably drier

I also purchased some Magnesium tablets because it supposedly regulates your body temperature. Hopefully i will see some results.

The only time I sweat when i am cold is if i am extremely nervous/anxious (but thats normal right?). But otherwise if i am cool, it is as if my Hyperhidrosis is non-existent.
