if you could design yourself...

... from scratch, what characteristics would you have?

Asylum Seeker:

loves live and himself,
doesn't look very good (true), but gives a damn about it (not true),
is intelligent (I'm already) and fully aware of it (I'm very often not),
is bold and playful,
is a true conversationalist, nobody tells stories like him,
is completely free, he doesn't give a damn what people think of him,
has infinite self esteem,
has a big ego, maybe sometimes slightly arrogant, but basically a good, down to earth fella,
knows what he wants and takes what he needs,
is ambitious, and determined,
is humorous,
can be very charming and charismatic if he wants,
knows how to talk to woman :D, got quite some mojo,
is fun loving but can be very serious, cares about environment and fellow people
is completely satisfied with himself

I think there are some more, but we don't want to exaggerate, right? ;)

Strangely, I wouldn't change much about myself. :3

The only two things I want to add is;

1. Honest facial expression

Over time my facial muscles have been trained to hold a very neutral expression (to a point where it becomes very difficult to overwrite). While that can be desirable during poker and interrogations, it creeps out most people in every day live.

2. Telepatic abilities

This one might sound odd, but it would help me out very much. I remain silent the majority of times- not because I have nothing to say, but because I don't know for the life of me how to explain it to someone else. This is frustrating most of the time- and occasionally just short of being torture.

Myself, minus the anxiety and excessive fears. Maybe slightly taller and without the health problems.

I have thought about this myself, on numerous occasions. I would take away this feature and add a better one, and take away this inability and then substitute it with what I think is something better. But then it hit me...

If I didn't have all these insecurities and flaws to which I obsess over and feel the need to change, then I'll have a completely different set of insecurities. Sure socially competent people have better self esteem and feel better about themselves, but in other areas they find themselves wanting to change or become better.

So if I had to design myself minus all my current flaws and inabilities, I would be someone who has a different set of them, and thus I'm just really back to square one. So I guess just being content with what I have (good or bad) is all I would really change in myself.

... but in other areas they find themselves wanting to change or become better.

Agree, but there is nothing bad about the wish to excell, to become better in some areas. I think that is what keeps most successfull people going. If you didn't wish to become better that would mean that you think you are already perfect and nobody is perfect. So this urge is the fuel of our lifes. It can become negative though, if you start to obsess about your felt inadequacies (which I do for example).

Good question, hmm.... if i would design myself i would be like this;

-Confident, a good charisma
-Happy with myself
-Not afraid to say what i think, or tell people no!
-Social life
-Calm person, a relaxed aura
-Stable emotions, can handle a lot
-optimistic
-no suspicions, just an easy thinker
-Feeling happy more
-Not afraid what people think
-Have a succesful life in music career or busy student
-Wake up in the morning, and feel blessed by the given day

would love to achieve this (=

I've thought about this numerous times. I would change quite a bit about myself actually...

- More confidence
- Obviously no SA
- Be a very optimistic person
- Actually stop second guessing myself all the time. I'm quite smart, and I should actually realize that, but I usually find myself second guessing a lot thinking I'm always wrong or making a mistake.
- Be taller ::p: I'm too short
- And I'd take away some of my health problems too

Yes, I agree wanting to improve is a very good trait. Maybe using the term "becoming better" wasn't the best, but what I was trying to say is that people tend to always want more, not so much in trying to improve, but more in the sense of "I deserve more". I'm definitely like that, and I suppose that if I want to improve, that's one trait I should get rid of.

If I could re-design myself...

I would be very good looking, very smart, anxiety free, and super successful.
