Can you literally count the number of words you speak in a day?

I know I can. Every single day, I can literally count how many words I have spoken that day.

This is despite the fact that I do actually spend most of my days "around people".

Are you getting at that you speak so few words you can count them? Me too, and I'm never alone. I think I probably went through some days in high school when the count stayed at 0.

If I really wanted to, I probably could because I speak so little. The only person I speak more than like 5 words to is my boyfriend when we talk on the phone. I never really talk to my parents (our family doesn't eat together unless it's a holiday), my brother tends to keep to himself like I do unless he wants something from me (like my boyfriend is going to get me a PSP soon, but my brother wants it to play Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep), and with my sister, I have days when I talk to her a lot and days when we don't talk at all.

My house is pretty silent from our speaking, I guess you can say. You'd only hear the TV/games being played.

I talk to myself quite a bit so nope. I could definitely count the words I say to others though. For the past week or so it's been 0.

I don't believe I can, I work in retail so I'm forced to interact with people. >.<

But outside work I'm sure I could. I only speak to my mother/father/sister on a regular basis, and I don't see my sister or father very much.

Hrm...I never thought of counting them before. I usually forget what I say today by the next morning. Usually I just talk to my parents, because they're the only ones I feel comfortable with to talk.

Surprisingly, talking to them seems like I'm talking to an adult friend.

I'm more concerned with word quality then quantity, really. I could go entire days without speaking and without caring that I didn't speak.

In fact, I speak so little in real life (due to several reasons besides SA/SP) that I've started to forget part of my native language. I speak English most of the time, and am far more well spoken in it then my native language. Which is quite sad, because my English isn't all that swell either..

It all depends on my mood. Today I was quite a happy camper and I talk a lot more when I'm happy so I probably exceeded more than a couple hundred today. Most days though I won't speak more than a hundred and if I'm in a really rotten mood I can definitely go a day or two without saying a word at all.

WOW, now that you mentioned it...besides to teachers at my high school, I have not said a word to any of my peers today...wow.
