Attention from girls causing further problems!

Hey......I have been depressed for ages and have or suffer from social anxiety.
I usually get the bus and train to get to college. When I get attention from girls on the bus or train or anywhere really, I get even more depressed because I know there is nothing I can do about it. Is this normal for those that have social anxiety?.....

Why can't you do anything about it dude? The only limits in life are the ones we set for ourselves.
Heres an idea. Whenever you find yourself thinking you can't do anything, go ahead and do it twice :)

i know what you mean and it suuuucks. i will get into situations where i am talking with a girl (trying to act super normal and cool to hide my anxiety as much as i can) and i end up somehow getting their number, but then i freak out, my anxiety goes to an 11 out of 10, and never end up going on a 1st date or anything. end up feeling like a huge loser.

at least u talk and get a number..

i cant even start convos with random girls unless its a forced situation

:C

I cant even take when a girl is eyeing me up,with no second intentions and when it did happen that someone liked me I am always sure that they dont really like me,because I am not worth enough to have somone liking me.

If girls are giving you attention maybe they like you?

They may well like me, but failure feels as inevitable as gravity.

The fact that someone is interested just makes it more depressing and frustrating, because inevitably my brain will seize up and I'll either freeze or run or otherwise do something to screw up the opportunity. The instant the situation is over, I'll be hating myself for it once again.

I guess what is difficult for someone who does not have SA to understand is if you see they are looking, they show interest, that they may like you..that you are worth their time and effort obviously--they ARE looking--why can't you just say hello and talk to them...ASK A SIMPLE QUESTION...they are looking for a reason.

They are human beings too with feelings and dreams just like you:)

What makes you think you are not worth it?????

What makes you feel less worthy then anyone else?

Why do you think yOur brain & body react this way? What are you afraid of is what you should ask yourself? That she WILL like you or that she won't..or won't stick around long term???

You have to find a way to turn that around, seriously that is NOT going to get you the things you want out of life. Maybe meds, therapy, etc?

Work to change your mindset:)

Trying to inject logic into emotion's wide area network. Fascinating. It can be done. It can be an exhausting exercise. Which may be met with its just too much damned work.

Work to change mindset, true. Feel, think, why, question, feel. It's all so f*****g hysterical.
