Do people occasionally slightly renew your faith in mankind?

It's been raining like crazy here, and because I hate the idea of having to pay to park at work, I have to park in a grassy area, naturally I got stuck. So 4 guys came up and helped push my car out so I could drive home, after thanking them I left and thought "that was nice of them, now if the other 98% of people could not be total assbags"
Anyone else kind of feel the same, or am I just ranting?

Yeah, I completely understand what your mean. It was very nice of them. Too bad there aren't more nice people out there. I think a lot of people are too individualistic and are only out to help themselves. It's important for people to help each other, even if they're strangers.

yes. Actually. The most adorable thing happened me a few months back and I meant to journal it but until just reading this thread this moment, it popped out of my head.

A little boy held a door open for me. It doesn't sound like much but I was weighed down with bags and I was pretty ill and in the city nobody helps anyone. Add to that, the area I live in is very rough and the kids are generally up to no good and the parents don't care. And I was having a bad day. He must have been no more than 8 years old and it was a very heavy glass door. He literally had to push against it with all his might to keep it open and I was about 15 steps away. I could hear his mother calling him but he held it open. And I said thank you, he replied ' You're very welcome miss' I nearly cried, so well mannered! I hope I'll have kids someday and they'll be as well mannered as that little boy. I felt like catching up with his mother and telling her what a great kid she had but I thought that might be a bit weird....so I didn't but it restored my faith in humanity for another day!

I once saw a guy, dressed in a suit no less, jump out of his car in rush hour traffic and stop everybody driving by so that he could let a mother duck and about ten ducklings cross the six lanes of street! I almost cried when I saw it.

Yeah, one time I was driving on an icy road and my car got stuck on ice; it wouldn't move. Many drivers passed by and just stared. But 2 guys came out of their car and helped me out. They poured pebbles on the road and helped me get unstuck.
