What if...?

I've had this thought.

What if people rode bikes instead of driving? And streets were replaced with thinner bike paths & gardens & parks where kids could play & people could picnic & BBQ.

They'd have long bike rides to see relatives in other states!

How about this: bikes are used to travel short distances (go to work), buses for long distances (town to town) and planes for even longer distances.

You would just need a few big roads for buses, which are way better than individual cars.

Haha I thought that sometimes. But having traveled all over Europe and to the US I know that's not true now.

Buses/Trams sound like a good idea, but they only work in cities and large urban areas. Also they are really impractical for if you need to be places at specific times or during the night.

what if the reality we thought we were living is just a mind reality program plugged into the mind of space travellers to keep their brains from atrophying as a result of the immense distances of space travel. sort of matrix style.

I'm waiting for an apocalyptic society if global warming causes excessively destructive floods and winds, terrorism, or diseases

If we lose power, communication, luxuries of gadgets, transportation, expensive clothes or make-up. Are windmills too ugly to keep building? People want to give up on renewable energy?

I'd be a natural survivor, ignoring all the widespread reliance on special things since the industrial revolution. I'd be pleased if the economy really does stop all trade completely, and a lack of food distribution. Vanity, sanitation :sarcastic:

Find yourself some coal. Find an anvil, hammer and tongs. Get some iron. Forge a real sword in stainless steel. Defend yourself. Find some cattle to slay in the fields. Slice & dice the steaks, and grill it on the anvil. Get some mates round for a BBQ. Keep it warm. Fire will let you see things when it's night time.

What if...someone found a "cure" for SA and shyness?

I reckon we would uncover a lot of people who would be very successful at many different things once their SA got taken away.

I feel thought it could go the other way as well. In my case it would just show how much of a lack of talent I actualy have.
