What are your life values?

After so much suffering and experience over the years, I have decided to live a different life. It may take time to realize them, but that's no problem. I will actively pursue them.

My new life values are:

-religion
-meeting people, friends, relatives; close social contact.

I'm determined to make these two my main life values, since I know these would make me happy. I don't care for money, or a perfect career etc.

What about you?

I think this is a terrific post Argamemnon!

This is actually something that i should think very carefully about, because i think i have a tendency to bounce back and forth through life, living according to how i think other people want me to.

i so often feel like i am slotting my life in around other people. the day i become assertive, people will drop dea from shock!

i think i should start aiming for:

1. learning to say no, without feeling bad
2. its ok to do things because you want to, not because u need to
3. stop letting other people's thoughts on how i should lead my life control me
4. stop comparing myself to other people
5. rebuild my faith
6. work harder to overcome this dreaded SP business!
7. stop ruminating over what people may have meant from things they said in conversations earlier that day

I think The Beatles said it best, "...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

Amen.

The things I value most are:

Family
Faith (Although I don't have a defined religion I think it is still important to have faith in something, I believe in things greater than me.)
Friends (It doesn't matter to me whether I have 1 friend or 100 friends, popularity isn't important to me, I care about having a "true" friend.)
Compassion(The well-being of others and the world in general)
Intuition
Love("real" love)
Honesty(being real)
Loyalty(being true)
Art/Music/Literature(All things that come from life and pain that I cannot live without.)
Freedom

Money isn't important to me either.

So much superstition and so much worry in my heart
I need a new religion it’s time to make a brand new start

I value life and beauty.
I value honor and courage -- dedication, service and loyalty.
I value friendship and family warmth.
I value fidelity and generosity, wide-mindedness, contentedness.

I value my four little nephews.

My life values in no particular order are to:

Become more assertive.

To further develop my confidence.

To stop worrying and analyzing over and over again about what other people think of me so much.

And finally, to just learn to enjoy and live my life to the full :)

I hardly ever live up to my life values, I take more pride in my goals and intentions than my achievements.

+ Love and compassion; having the perseverance and courage to step out of comfort zones and sacrifice your time to help others and/or minimise harm done without expecting a reward in return
+ Tolerance / acceptance
+ Integrity / sincerity
+ Spirituality; letting go of nourishing ego illusions, which affect our capacity to enjoy life peacefully
