"you never talk"

yes heard it again today!!
I feel like I have been talking more than ever the past few weeks but apparently I still "never talk."

I think there are two kinds of people who say this: the ones who are trying to talk to you and don't really mean to be mean, and the jerks.
This was one of the jerks (nasty old lady I have to work with) She told someone else that I never talk and they went and had a whole discussion about me like I wasn't even there.

And i never know what to say, because if I say something mean back than I will look like the jerk because apparently it is socially acceptable to mock people with SA.

I know a lot of people have phobias of snakes, spiders or whatever and i would never dream of mocking them for it. (I would trade SA for arachnephobia in a heartbeat! I like spiders and snakes) But it seems to be ok for people to make fun of SA.

Sorry for the rant, but this really made me mad.
She asked me to clean some stuff for her before she went home but I didn't touch it. She is going to be cleaning her own damn dishes tomorrow. :)

Well, i rarely talk. I only talk if someone talks to me, like answers me a question. I can just walk with someone for an hour and not say anything. Or be in a group and never talk unless asked to say something specific.

It's really annoying, i hate people more and more for everyday that goes.

When I'm at school, I rarely talk. I don't know anyone...it can be so frustrating at times. I really would like to fit in.

Same thing happens to me all the time now that I'm in college...I thought I was doing pretty good too but, like you, I guess I still "never talk"

But it's always the nice people who are trying to be my friend who say that. And if someone says that to you you could just say you're extremely shy or that you're trying to work on it. They don't know you have SA until you tell them.

And I don't think they're mocking us they just wanna be friends

I can spend a long time without saying a word, it just seems that other people get unnerved by my silence.

what exactly is so freakish about people who are quiet.

Who cares if we're quiet? I'm glad I'm not like you, going around saying stuff that no body cares about anyways. agh.

normally I agree with you freestylemonster, but this lady is just mean. Working with her sometimes reminds me of being back in 7th grade aka HELL.

Actually in regards to the non-jerk people, i think sometimes when we don't talk it makes other people feel sort of like we do all the time. Like we aren't speaking to them or looking at them because of whatever they are insecure about.... this helps me sometimes to think that even people without SA are also insecure on some level.
