Where can i go to be diagnosed for any mental illnesses?

Can I just go to my pediatrician (I am 19, have been seeing her since age 3, and will be seeing her until 21 because she has treated me for so long and knows my medical history well) and have her diagnose me? I didn't think so. I have not heard of any psych doctors in NYC.

A pediatrician specializes in the medical care of children, not psychiatry. You are probably better off seeing a psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist.

Diend. Start with her. I believe she can refer you to a Psychiatrist. That what my general doctor did. I'll be going later this month for an evaluation. Talk to your doctor and ask her to refer you.

She can give you a recommendation. Ask her. Also, they can work together if you allow that to happen so that you can get the best care with both medications.
